The End of frozen condense pipes.

The bit I have a real problem with is that the boilers are tripping out with frozen condensate drain pipes at exactly the time that people most need them ! . I think it's a national disgrace ! - The green loonies have a lot to answer for...... :)

    Help! Key problem

Either you haven't pushed it up far enough before turning to the locked position or you're missing an o-ring from the key .... Does it stop at the "locked " position ? - If it doesn't then it's not pushed in far enough before turning it.

    Worcester Bosch Fuses keep blowing

Best of luck - But I think you'll find that they have themselves covered against claims by their " Conditions of supply ".

Frozen condensate pipes everywhere you go

Some installers have taken no precautions whatsoever. I've seen several installations where the condensate drains running from Worcester boilers are several metres of uninsulated 21.5mm pipe running externally with almost no slope - Never had a chance once the temperature outside went sub zero...

    Help! Key problem

Have you tried a bit more upward pressure before turning the key ? The arrow on the key should be lined up with the unlocked symbol on the housing when it is in the right orientation to be pushed up into position, then when you turn it to the right the arrow will line up with the locked...

    Help! Key problem

Sounds like the key isn't pushed up far enough - If it was you'd have an o-ring seal on both sides of the water supply and the water wouldn't leak out. Try pushing the key a bit further up then turn it and it should lock into position. I presume that you're opening two valves - the inlet...

    Preventing bees nests in attics

[/url] Thanks - I take it that you would staple or glue this on the inside (attic side) of the soffit vents ? I'll have a look - I think it will be a bit tricky fitting this as it's difficult to reach the soffit vents from the attic.

Sticking roof felt back up inside attic

No - It has definately been physically torn. The felt is also in very good condition - as new I would say.

Sticking roof felt back up inside attic

It appears that before I bought my house someone had loads of stuff stored in the attic and managed to tear the roof felt in several places when retrieving it..... The result is that I have roof felt hanging down in several locations and can see the underside of the roof tiles. Can anyone...

    Preventing bees nests in attics

I know it's not very likely to happen in the current weather :D , but does anyone have any tips on preventing bee infestations in attics ? I've just been up in my attic and there's been bees there in recent times - lots of dead bees about and some honeycomb formed in one area of my...

    Legrand Video Entry System

Thanks. I'll get an electrician to have a look. Hopefully it is part of the duct - I was concerned that it might be a seperate blower unit that the duct leads to, located somewhere above the ceiling and inaccessible without ripping down part of the ceiling.... There is a light in the...

    Legrand Video Entry System

Thanks for your post Alarm. As you say, it must be powered from somewhere inside the apartment. I will speak to more of the neighbours. I believe these systems have been problematic - one comment I heard was that the builders got a cheap batch of these Legrand units in from China...

    Legrand Video Entry System

Thanks for your reply - Everything on the consumer unit is powered up. From having a look around the internet I would expect the system to be powered via a plug in transformer - but I can't find one anywhere.... The wiring in this apartment is a nightmare...... I have a bathroom...

    Legrand Video Entry System

My daughter has just moved into a new apartment and there's a video entry system fitted which is completely "dead" even though it's almost brand new. Does anyone know where I can get some information regarding this Legrand video entry system ? At the moment I can't even figure...

    Need new Tumble Dryer

Thanks very much for your advice Zipper. I had a go at dismantling from the back last weekend. I got to the point where it looked like I'd have to take the blower impellor off the shaft to get any further. I gave up at that stage as I was concerned that I'd end up not being able to...
