Disconnect dishwasher - how to block off pipes under sink?

Unfortunately the waste pipe connector part is too small - the connector that the dishwasher waste connects to (the bit that screws in) is much bigger. I think we need a blanking cap or something that will screw on to the waste pipe connector. Does anyone know if you can get these?

Disconnect dishwasher - how to block off pipes under sink?

We're going to be moving house soon. I've been looking at the dishwasher pipes under the sink in the kitchen and I was wondering what I would need to attach to the pipe connections when I disconnect the dishwasher's water and waste pipes. The water pipe from the dishwasher (pictured below)...

How do the indemnity policies work? Haven't come across them before.

How to get a replacement Corgi certificate?

We've only had it serviced once (last year). I'll get the Corgi document somehow. If it wasn't installed by a Corgi engineer and registered I guess I'll have to get on to the house builder.

How to get a replacement Corgi certificate?

Thanks for replying. I did actually call Gas Safe this afternoon but they just said that they don't have these records as the boiler was installed before they took over.

How to get a replacement Corgi certificate?

We're in the processing of selling our house. The buyers solicitor has asked us to provide the Corgi certificate from when the boiler was fitted in 2006 (when the house was built). We moved in in 2007 and the certificate was not left by the original owner (we never had to obtain this when we...

Neff B1422 Built in oven getting too hot and burning food

Within the last few days our Neff built-in oven has been getting too hot and has been burning food. For instance some roast potatoes that normally take a good 30 minutes to cook have been burning after just 15 minutes at the usual temperature. Has anyone else come across this problem before...

Hasn't been serviced. I know that's not good. Spoke to a friend of the family on the mrs's mothers side who's a plumber - getting it serviced in a couple of weeks.

Glow Worm 18HXI - intermittent problems - best to replace?

Hi guys. Wondered if I could get some advice/opinions on this. We've got a Glow Worm 18HXI boiler in the garage. It's about 7 years old. Occasionally we'll get up one morning and find that the heating isn't on. I go out and check the boiler and it's got F1 flashing on the display and...

Water leaking from top of Fluidmaster in toilet

Cheers. I'll probably give it a go then. It's a Fluidmaster at present - they seem to be about a tenner at Screwfix. As they're apparently universal fitting is there a difference between the Fluidmaster 400 and the 400A?

Water leaking from top of Fluidmaster in toilet

Is it a simple process to replace it? My main concern would be the water that resides in the bottom of the main unit after isolating the mains - what would happen to this when I remove the old Fluidmaster?

Water leaking from top of Fluidmaster in toilet

I had a problem a couple of weeks ago with the Fluidmaster in one of our toilets. It wasn't shutting off the water properly which was resulting in the water level rising up to the overflow. Thanks to DIYNot I was able to remove and thoroughly clean up the black washer underneath the arm...

Toilet Overflow Problem - Constant water trickle

Done it. Got the flat washer thing out which was all gunked up and gave it a thorough clean. The washer itself wasn't worn or anything - looked as good as new once cleaned up. Re-fitted everything and flushes like a dream. Thanks very much for all your help and advice.

Toilet Overflow Problem - Constant water trickle

Cheers. In terms of turning the water off first, is it enough to just have the cut off screw supplying water to the toilet turned off? I presume it is. There's still an inch or two of water in the bottom of the unit after flushing. Is it a particular name of washer that may be needed?

Toilet Overflow Problem - Constant water trickle

This week we noticed that one of our toilets was trickling after flushing. I've had this on the other two toilets in the house - on those in the past I've just had to adjust the mechanism on the left - the bit that shuts the water off when the water level gets to the overflow pipe. This time...
