    drywall joint advice

i don;t want to skim as i'm a diyer and i'm doing this for my mum so low budget. i can handle the jointing but not plastering. so if you can use scrim on the square edges of the board when you've put easifill on top does it not sit proud of the rest of the ceiling?

    drywall joint advice

I had a look at tapered edge plasterboard today in wickes and I notice that the tapered edge was only up the long sides not the short sides. the ceiling is longer than 2.4m so that means I will need to butt up against a square edge is that normal? Can you do drywall jointing like that?

no i know what a combi is i was replying to "Run it a few years then pull the lot out and fit a combi." as far as £1700, if i could get a new one fitted for that i would have. but my quotes range from £3000 to £4500. they're all saying that because it needs to be converted to fully pumped...

    shower pump question

hi i'm fitting a shower pump in my airing cupboard and i'm just figuring out the routing of the pipes from the pump to the bathroom. will i have any issues if i take the pumped hot and cold back up into the loft and then back down into the bathroom (which will be a lot easier than going under...

can i fit a cylinder thermostat to my older potterton system

after paying out to have it repaired i'm going to keep it for a few years now, it's a good boiler. i think i'll still do the cylinder stat and 2 port valve as suggeted. as far as fitting a combi most people i've spoken to tell me to steer clear of them in a bigish house.

can i fit a cylinder thermostat to my older potterton system

thanks yes i would need to keep it simple. that looks fairly straight forward. can i just ask a couple of questions: so the 28mm two port valve fits to the pipe from the cylinder back to the boiler not from the boiler to the cylinder? and does this need to be fitted at the cylinder end or the...

can i fit a cylinder thermostat to my older potterton system

thanks john, well knowing its doable is a start. i'll have a look into it, i'm competent at wiring, as far as plumbing i did my kitchen, bathroom and changed all the radiators but have never got involved in my heating system before. so it's possible that i can do it, i'll do a bit of research...

hi a wall on the outside of my garage has been painted with synthaprufe or some type of bitumen and then rendered on top by someone a long time ago. the render is starting to fall off now and i would prefer to take it back to the original brickwork rather than re-rendering it again. some...
