    Branch to shaver socket

Yes you are right, I meant RCD but typed MCB :-/ This is the one, image below. So 2 wires from the spur, 1 to the heater and the other to this RCD then down to shaver socket ?. Many thanks !

    Branch to shaver socket

Hi, There's an electric heater in our bathroom with cable running to it from a fused spur. We don't have a shaver socket for toothbrushe etc Would running 2 wires out from the spur, 1 to heater and another one to an MCB then to shaver socket be acceptable? Many thanks

how best to split 45 amp 3 ways?

Haven't tried it yet so I might be wrong about time taken but I have to say I'm quite impressed with how induction works. You need pans with magnetic bases and it seems really quick to heat but I don't know how hot it gets ( which contradicts what I said about time taken but it's from user...

how best to split 45 amp 3 ways?

Hello. No it's an electric hob, give me a moment I'll find a link (search Google for plug in hob, they are normally induction) One of the benefits is they are actually low power and given the situation in the world right now it's a plus, takes longer to cook but less energy

how best to split 45 amp 3 ways?

Thank you everyone, I will print these, it's (it has !) helped to understand. In terms of tails out from original cable run I looked into dual appliance outlets. Using one of these run one 2.5mm outlet side straight to washing machine plug and other side to cooker switch (only a switch, not a...

how best to split 45 amp 3 ways?

Hi, and thank you for the replies, my learning curve never seems to stop. Could I politely ask if someone could share some knowledge. Currently there is a 9000w cooker hardwired, the by the side socket has 13A capability. I see lots of these want 45amps The current cooker all electric (not...

how best to split 45 amp 3 ways?

Currently the fuse board feed runs into a cooker switch with 13amp socket next to it. The current electric cooker days it's 9000kw. At fuse box it's 32a. The switch is currently directly above the cooker which is a huge no no. In the past I've seen extension lead hanging from these cooker...

how best to split 45 amp 3 ways?

I'll check the fuse tomorrow but no matter what the draw won't be higher then current. For the 13A socket there'll also be a fused spur. I want to be sure to achieve 3 trails.

how best to split 45 amp 3 ways?

Hi, I must move a 45amp cooker socket switch with socket. I plan to fit 13A oven, a 13A hob and then have 1 socket (for washing machine) = 3 sockets max 39A. How is it possible to split the 45A to 3 cables, gives me more flexibility but unsure how to approach correctly. Many thanks, Kevin

is wiring on cooker switch separate

Hi, got this ugly thing on the wall needs to be moved. My Q, would anyone familiar with these know if there are 2 sets of wires to each switch inside. We would hope to have a cooker switch separate and underneath the worktop have a plug switch for washing machine. I could have new equivalent...

    Change mechanical stat to wireless

Hi, I thought I'd follow up my post as I've now got this thermostat installed and working, thanks to my very qualified plumber. It turned out the stat is actually quite simple, L and N obvious enough but we found when we connected the remaining 2 terminals there was no output, they were dead no...

    Change mechanical stat to wireless

I see it, thank you. Think it's just jumped to my heating chap when he comes round to service. He wired it originally in the swap to combi so will more competent than me, although I'm not entirely comfortable wiring the combi there must be wires running to the programmer which are already in...

    Change mechanical stat to wireless

Hi,my atag combi is a A325SEC (X)linked to a Honeywell 7 day programmer, ST9400C. This is linked into my Honeywell thermostat that I was hoping to replace. I had a boiler and immersion which was upgraded to a combi. So the stat just did temp. One half of my Honeywell programmer is redundant now...

yes, it is missing something. All connected without problem but the boiler is not being switched on when I increase temperature. Is this just the wrong thermostat for the job or is there something else I need to do? Thanks again

    Change mechanical stat to wireless

Hi, There was a wiki on this but it's gone so I need to ask for some help. I have an old Honeywell mechanical thermostat, 4 wires = earth, yellow switched live, blue neutral and a red live. I want to replace it. My replacement (dipping my toe in something newer) has a live and neutral input + 2...
