I did look at changing to the local authority bc. Issue I may have here they may ask me to dig pilot holes for existing footing. They wsntt 1m deep but it was about 850mm so may even ask I dig it all out again. I do want to change but every angle is a risk

I've I've that bc officer saying he needs to inspect the wall is built back to standard else he fail it.

Problem with reinstating the wall BC inspector saying it has to meet regs, be 1m deep and have cavity insulation. This brings the wall out to much. Also new foundations under the existing house could cause settlement issues. Issue with putting the extension up, I don't have the drainage design...

I'm happy to rebuild the wall, but BC have told me I need to dig 1m deep as the footings are not suitable, and I have to do cavity insulation. The rest of the walls in house are not like this. Other issue is there is a steel beam spanning across which is not in the correct place.

This is what I thought, the building inspector is being difficult and saying it must have cavity insulation, air gaps etc. If I do this I won't be able to match it with the existing cavity of original brickwork which had no insulation.
