    this is a rental property. the mould is in the stairwell, so there is no room to put clothes there. But yes, this can be a problem where the property is "sealed" with double glazing and is heated with a gas boiler.

    been down to my property. putting both wires in to the same terminal doesn't put the light on. all 3 red wires in the rose carry electricity.

    fair point but we wouldn't do anything unless it was secure. difficult to see from the photo but the bit is still attached and it will be like recementing a brick back in place.

    yes, changed the lightbulb. we've gone and bought a new rose and going to change just the flex part. I'll report back later

    fair comment about the rose. we put both wires in the same terminal and the light bulb doesn't go on.

    a light switch used to work but one time the light stayed on when we tried to switch it off. We replaced the light switch (two different switches) but the light won't go on. Electricity is coming to the switch. Any suggestions? here is a photo of the ceiling rose.

    We have a couple of weathered mullions; see attached photos. It's not structural so we are going to leave the loose bits where they are and pack something behind the loose bits. what material should we use please?
