Emptying attic water tank from the bottom for cleaning?

HI, I have an attic water tank connected to a 60m well, and wondering if this might work as a system of cleaning the typical build up of.mud at the bottom of the tank: 1. Insert a horizontal copper pipe laying on the floor of the tank, with several holes at the bottom of the pipe, so that the...

Sewage gases coming from soilpipe behind WC

Well, it has been like this for around 5 years and no leaks, but I suppose if there was ever a blockage further down the drain, the backflow would probably escape. I know the proper solution is to refit the wc. Thank you.

Sewage gases coming from soilpipe behind WC

Hi, this WC is inserted into what appears to be an asbestos drain pipe. It goes into a wall, not under the WC. There are no actual leaks, other than some sewer gases. In this case, do you think it would be acceptable to cover the soilpipe with 3 tiles and seal with silicone? There is an ideal...

    Foundation for new extension.

Ok, actually I'm in Spain, but the house in question is in Ireland. I'm not fully sure either of all the details of the build, so I was asking some general questions. Personally, I would prefer to use mesh reinforcement in any kind of foundations. Thanks I really appreciate the help.

    Foundation for new extension.

Ok, so in the case that only concrete (no iron mesh) was used under walls as well, would that be sufficient? I mean not to use any iron mesh reinforcement in the foundation at all? Or would it be possible or recommended to dig down and lay the new concrete and mesh overlapping sections? Thanks

    Foundation for new extension.

Hi, I have a couple of questions about a friend's new extension: 1: If a foundation for a 1-floor (aprox 12 square meters) extension was incorrectly laid, using only concrete (no mesh reinforcement) would it be possible to correct the problem by later digging down (after the extension has been...

Re-roofing in sections in unpredictable weather?

Ok thanks, so is the following the correct procedure? First remove the top 3 or 4 horizontal rows of tiles and felt and probably lats, then replace them - doing the bottom row of the section first? and then repeat the procedure in the section below that, ensuring that the tops of the first row...

Re-roofing in sections in unpredictable weather?

You mean you start at the top of the roof? Is it not more usual to start at the bottom and work up?

Re-roofing in sections in unpredictable weather?

Hi, I was wondering about doing a new roof, but in Ireland where the rain can be a bit unexpected sometimes. So would it be feasible, say to do the roof in sections, working horizontally and first removing the old slates + felt and lats, maybe 1 vertical meter at a time, then installing the...
