Setting new pan on Amtico floor

Okay - didn't realise that. Will probably use a Dow Corning from Screwfix. Have you ever tried an acrylic for this type of use. D

Setting new pan on Amtico floor

We are not Lardy-a so will give the silicone a try. CT1 adhesive may be a bit too permanent for my liking. Thanks D

Setting new pan on Amtico floor

The flooring is on a concrete base. There is 6mm latex screed. The strips are then glued down as laid. It would need drilling and plugging before it could be screwed. It's not an issue just asking if necessary. It's a downstairs cloak so will not see too much traffic. D

Setting new pan on Amtico floor

Hi. Grateful of some advice. Just about to fit new CC pan onto new Amtico floor. Floor laid first so no cut out - continuous flooring under pan. Cistern will have two screws retaining to wall. Floor nice and flat (latex levelling screed before flooring). I am wondering do I need the two...

Basin hangers - should I use single fix slot for adjustment.

Hi all. About to fit Ideal Standard corner basin; fairly small and compact 340mm x 340mm. Planing on wall hangers only - I have attached picture of hangers. I have dry lined walls so will be fitting with wooden blocks to give solid fixing. My question for the forum; would I be best to use...

Can anyone please identify my shower

Thanks for pointers. I have tried both plus couple of other parts places. Trouble is, nobody seems sure. Been told could be a Trevi, Monoport, Monolux, Monoblend....... Was hoping the forum would know for sure. Thanks D

Can anyone please identify my shower

Hi again. Having bit of trouble with my shower. I think cartridge has properly had it - started dripping but now very slack / loose. I suspect the only thing holding it together is the housing and will probably fall to bits when removed. I would like to be sure I have a cartridge that will...

    Help identifying fitting

Rob - yes it's a doughnut type of seal. It's not rubber though - looks like high density foam. It compresses down quite a lot. Thanks. D

    Help identifying fitting

Hi again - Have done a test fit of loo and new connector. Used a Mac8 Finn type short connector inside a 110mm adapter - see pics. Worked out my clearances and all seemed okay. Fitted up nice and tight on pan spigot (see pic through seat fixing hole). (Connector shows one fin through bottom of...

Not come across that. Would you mind posting a link or trade name I could search by. I use Screwfix a fair bit - do they stock it. Thanks D

    Help identifying fitting

That's a good idea - do you mean something like the 2part putty for leak fixing ? I don't think there is a hole to be seen but it looks like an impact has deformed and broken the plastic. It has probably sprung back and closed up. Thanks D

    Help identifying fitting

Hi. Hoping for a bit more advice. Looking at advice of Denso13 and wondered about the long reach finned connector that reaches past the slip connector. Measuring up the depth and I noticed some damage in pipe from original fit (see pic). Would you advice I patch this up - fill it with...

    Help identifying fitting

I removed my loo - advice was spot on; 110mm push fit socket in the floor. The pan connection looks improvised - a standard WC connector cut off and solvent welded to 110mm pipe. I guess previous person also had same problem finding something that fitted. Also discovered large dollop of cement...

    Help identifying fitting

(Should have said - because the socket is concreted in floor and fixed, I only have about 2" gap between wall and socket and the rear of pan casing sits in this gap. The movement of pan in and out is limited to this distance - don't think I can use flex fit and slide into position after fitting...

    Help identifying fitting

Thanks for that. If I need to adjust the loo from back wall, could I fit a 90 degree push fit into push fit socket (in concrete). This would give me the connections on same plane ( horizontal) for a short straight like a Mac-1 (using the 4" sleeve). Thanks D

    Help identifying fitting

Thanks all for the pipe fitting Identification and 4" sleeve tip. My new loo is a close coupled back to wall jobbie (sorry - couldn't resist that). If I silicone the push-fit, the sleeve may help me lower the pan vertically onto the soil pipe. I could see getting the fins in would be tricky...
