Dual Flush Dripping in to Pan

Don't... that's a whole heap of drama itself :cautious: We suffered at the hands of a cowboy and had to have a lot of things put right!

Dual Flush Dripping in to Pan

Hello, I have recently had a toilet installed. It's one of those new fangled ones with the dual flush button and a central flush unit. Annoyingly it's leaked since it was new. I've had various people twist the middle bit out and adjust it but it always seems to drip. Is there any reason why...

Making gloss cabinet board not gloss...

Hello, I have a piece of cabinet board 'filler' in my kitchen that's gloss whereas the rest of the kitchen isn't gloss it's that slightly bobbly satin material that bits of kitchen tend to made from. My question to you is, if I were to buy some satin cabinet paint and roller it on with a foam...

    Bath Shower Screen Trim

Hello, Forgive this slightlystupid question, but our bath shower screen as a little piece of plastic that sits under it (like most do) to stop the water spilling out. It's of a design much like this: Where there are two 'legs' a longer one and a shorter one. My question is should the...

    Unvented Cylinder Location

This is all gotten very negative. I have a basic grasp of social interaction, thanks. I was just simply trying to get straight in my own mind what my options might be. I appreciate a qualified installer is the only way to be sure, and this is obviously the route I will go down.

    Unvented Cylinder Location

You're mistaken. I have absolutely no desire to install a water cylinder, I'm just trying to plan for when I need to replace my boilermate and trying to decide which option might be suitable before I bother to call out an engineer.

    Unvented Cylinder Location

I wouldn't install it myself... That would end badly for all involved

    Unvented Cylinder Location

Is there any restriction on the location of an unvented cylinder. I've read that they need PRV pipework, does that mean they need to be against an external wall?

    Thermal Stores (Boilermate)

A Suprima. Also, no, our bath is just a standard one, a pretty small standard one at that!

    Thermal Stores (Boilermate)

The boiler is on max whatever temp that is. We've also noticed the rads getting hot when we've used up the hot water and the boiler replenishing itself. So a BM should be able to heat a full bath?

    Thermal Stores (Boilermate)

Perhaps our TS is rubbish, but my parents house has a combi and it always seemed much better. Our boiler can't even fill a bath without running out of hot water :(

    Thermal Stores (Boilermate)

Yeah, sorry! I meant to remove it at some point. I think for cost reasons we'll just get it fixed for now. We'd really like a combi boiler but it sounds like a huge undertaking from what I'm reading around the Internet!

    Thermal Stores (Boilermate)

What's the PRV pipe work? Also, thanks for the comments. An splan system is a new one on me, luckily YouTube has some explanations!

    Thermal Stores (Boilermate)

Hello, In my house there's a potterton boiler and a Boilermate 3. We're having some issues with the BM and we'll hopefully at some point replace it (although, for now we'll probably just get it fixed). I don't quite understand what it's doing. My belief is that the cold water runs through it...

    Wall Plugs

I've always had a bit of a disaster with those type of fittings. I used them somewhere else and the screw wouldn't screw all the way in and then snapped!

    Wall Plugs

Hello, Super newb question... But I have some wall plugs that have come with a towel rail and toilet roll holder (please see attached). Are they crappy cheapo things and am I best getying something proper from the DIY shop, or are they very specific ones not to be substituted ever? Also, it's...

    Toilet Question

Thanks for your advice, everyone. Much appreciated. I've actually just checked and the pipe to the flapper valve is actually too high to be the overflow pipe. The instructions don't say anything about cutting it so I'm a bit worried it could crack or something. I'll probably get someone to...

    Toilet Question

When I say it leaks I mean through testing of it, rather than it's just constantly leaking. I just presumed the pipe would be 10mm or some standard measurement. I'm new to this pipe lark! Does anyone have any suggestions of how to block it?

    Toilet Question

Hello! Last night I put a new flush in our toilet. It's all working, but the overflow pipe doesn't appear to marry up nicely and leaks. I have a suspicion that it may have leaked before it had just never been tested. Anyway, my new flush has a built in overflow. Can you see any danger in...
