    As the T Man said above, a PIR is the industry norm of checking existing electrical installations. If you need an electrical installation certificate then this would have been issued by the person carrying out the works at the time. This was pre Part P and remains so now.

    Is the desk an extraneous conductive part? If not then by bonding it you have introduced an earth potential so making the set up dangerous. I could be wrong in my thinking but that is the way I was taught.
