Rich im not sure what kind of gloss it is, how would i tell if its vinyl gloss or oil paint gloss? yes i could hack it off, but it would be such a nightmare, as i believe its render behind there. i had a go wit a hammer and boster but was tough work.

I have 3 walls in my house that have been glossed. i heard that you cant plaster over the gloss painted walls. so what will i have to do to prepare the wall for plastering. i cant be hacking the wall back, so can i pva the glossed wall??? will this work?

well the reason i want to do it is because if ever the led corrodes leading up to my front door ( i have a drive way also) its my problem. also im considering doing this, as im having a porch built, and at a later date i cant afford to rip my drive way up with my newly built porch.... will...

could you not just put a sand/cement mix in to fill in the gap around the window and the brick wall. jsut chuck it in and neaten it off. i did that at my house when i bought it, similar to yours. or you could fill the gaps in with foam then skim over the foam once you cut it back.

ok thanks i queried this with the plasterer, and he showed me the pva he uses by everbuild and it says on the back that pva can be applied onto wood. he said he would apply it neat so s/c sticks. the wood is only really around the windows, and where the skirting boards are. should i ignore...
