Thank you! Did you do a building notice or full plans? You have definitely made me think twice about using someone, and have had a little play around tonight. What do you think?

    Rear extension requirements

I expected an answer like that to be honest. I'm not 100% sure it was his exact words, as it was a bad phone line, so i thought we could discuss it further on a site visit. He did say about it helping with the future sale of the house blah blah blah. Is it in his interested if he 'made me'...

48sqm kitchen extension. £30k all in

I have just read through the whole lot, a very interesting and inspirational read. Well done. I am currently planning a rear extension for my bungalow, also with very little knowledge on the building regs. I love that you done your own drawings and got them approved. How did you decide on...

    Rear extension requirements

Thanks for the advice. I have decided to get someone in who will draw it up for building control approval. I did consider drawing it up, but then i don't know what's required in terms of footings, joist spans etc. This guy will also arrange the SE for any steels. We've only had a phone...

    Rear extension requirements

Hey guys. I’ve currently got a planning application in for a loft conversation, of which we’re having trouble with the planning lot despite what most houses around here have got. Now with a baby on the way, we’ve decided that the loft is out of the question for now, but will still go ahead...

Bungalow Re-Wire - Chase up to loft or up from suspended floor void?

As said already, it’s up to you how it’s done, but in my opinion, why would you chase all the way up from the CU, then chase all the way back down again to each Socket? That’s a hell of a lot of work, not to mention cable cost.

How much does EON want to install a smart meter

You’ll be able to put them off until April easily just by ignoring their letters and phone calls. EDF have been on at me for at least a year to get mine replaced! At first I just said I don’t want one, then I said can we wait until my building work was complete, then I said I was working away...

    Loft Architect drawings.

Hey guys. I’ve been thinking about our loft for some time and have decided that I want to apply for planning permission this year, so that I know what I can and can’t do before we make too many future plans. I plan on doing a lot of the work myself, but getting pros in for the more complex...

    Metal DNO CutOuts

A cable can only be opened up after a proper cable id is carried out. We can’t kustbopen up an unknown cable. If it can’t be id’d via pulse or echo, then it must be traced - which means digging until you find the other end or branch joint etc.

    Metal DNO CutOuts

There are no procedures in the DSR’s to cut a live cable in one hit. All cores shall be cut individually.

    Moving Electricity cables and pole

Have you any photos? If all the red lines are underground cables, where do the overhead lines run? Where's the next pole? Or is it just one pole on its own? Google street view might help.
