    Grout Waterproofer/Sealer from shower

Hi all, Has anyone used one of those grout waterproofers to help prevent grout absorbing water from the shower? I am paranoid about leaks and mould so trying to do what I can to minimise water getting behind those tiles. https://www.ltp-online.co.uk/prod/ltp-wall-and-floor-grout-protector Thanks

Quote from flooring company - does this seem accurate/fair? Karndean LVT

Thanks for the math. Does the levelling price seem fair for 60 sq m? I was surprised to see they wanted extra to prep before the self leveller.

Shower wall isn’t plumb. What thickness of adhesive is acceptable to build it out?

yes I’m considering taking it back to brick, but I’m not sure what would be best to level it. I’m thinking a rough bind coat and then 6mm backerboard screwed into the wall to get a finished level and plumb wall. I will have to re-waterproof it too.....

Getting dripping condensation from duct - please advise!

Before I added the additional ducts, there was lots of water on the underside of the insulation and the timbers were damp. Since adding the ducts, we have had downpours of rain and all the timbers and insulation is now dry. However by adding the ducts we have now caused a possible issue with...

Getting dripping condensation from duct - please advise!

A builder neighbour advised I should just insulate the duct from the floor boards up and seal all gaps in the floor with expanding foam and it should be fine. The insulated duct will prevent warm humid air inside from touching the cold duct and prevent condensation. What I am concerned about...

Getting dripping condensation from duct - please advise!

The ground outside is about 12” from the top of that duct. There are existing air bricks on this wall but airflow wasn’t great so I core drilled 4” hole and added a duct which runs through the wall and down between the wall and joist. The opposite side of this wall in the house is an extension...

Hi all, We have a wall of floor to ceiling tall units with a couple built in ovens. Best way to connect freestanding bath tap to pipes under the floor for future access?

Hi all, I'm fitting a new free standing bath tap which has the flexible tails pre connected with a female 1/2" connector on the end. I have my hot and cold feeds under the floor. The maximum hole i can make for the tap is only about 50mm in diameter so impossible to connect (or disconnect in...

Wall/Ledger Plate Concerns - Adding another below and lateral stress

Thanks for your response. He used 7x2 joists at 300 centres. I wish we used 7x3. It'd just about OK with regs. Building inspector requested we double the joists under the bath so we installed 7x3 half way directly under the bath too which sit in the web of the steel. I also made it very clear...

Wall/Ledger Plate Concerns - Adding another below and lateral stress

Yes it does because the joists are tied to the wall... I'm just worried that because where the joists sit in the web of the RSJ and aren't secured from moved towards the wall, they could over time move in that direction.
