    immersion heaters

If you do have a hot water cylinder you can heat it with one of these. Get ready for when the North Sea gas finally runs out (not long to go)and all the gas is imported from Russia. The price will then rocket.

    Capping off a chimney

kev said: Don't you mean someone else would notice they were dead? Mind you, there was a case last year when a Civil Servant died at his desk and I think it took 3 days for someone to notice. Some people aren't very lively at the best of times.

tiling a kitchen with mosaic tiles

My opinion is use an electric tile cutter but watch your fingers with small tiles. Use the search for tile cutters; there are a few comments worth reading.

If you've ever removed tiles from plasterboard it takes some of the board off as well so I gave it a go onto the existing tiles. It was a big success and all I did was cleaned the tiles first...

    Pilot won't fly my glow-worm

Best boiler ever made slogger, but I am a landlord. I've got 3 of them just coming up to 30 years old. They may not be efficient at getting heat from burning gas but the total energy consumed over 30 years is lower than fitting a new combi every few years; plus the energy spent by the engineer...

    Is this oven wired correctly?

Ok the oven can be connected to the ring if load is no more than 3kW, but is that the kitchen ring or downstairs house ring? Look at all the other kitchen stuff also on the ring such as combi micro-wave oven, deep-fat fryer, kettle, washing machine, tumble-dryer. It adds up a bit doesn't it?
