The boxing gets damp from the condensation off the pipe and toilet cistern. The wood looks OK besides being tarnished. Is there any wood sealant i could use before paintin? ( I intend to use water based paint) or would plastic covering do a better job?

Hi all. Ive had this problem before, where I've tightened the grub screw, yet the spindle on one side tends to slip over time. I thought id tightened the grub screws really tight but still have this problem. Is there anything else I can try?

Update : got diagnostic equipment on it and traced it to the throttle assembly. The air intake butterfly valve thingy isn't opening properly due to a sticking motor that should be making a humming noise with ignition on. Getting a replacement Hes gone to the pub now so can i ask if is it a...
