    Undersized upvc door

Hi all I've got the chance of a free upvc door . It's only 2 year old but my opening is 950cm wide , this door is 880, so as I'm getting the door free is it bad practice to put a 70mm addon on, It's 210cm high too. There is a window to the side also attached with a joining addon, if it's OK to...

    Downlights

Thanks.. You any suggestions on downlights to maybe get 8, the electrician is leaving it to me to sort the bits and pieces , drilling holes etc to keep labour down. Why not 6 on one? Just curious as the way the dining kitchen is set out wouldn't be a problem having on 6 on aesthetically

    Downlights

Hi all, I have a kitchen diner , 3.3 mtr x 4.3 mtr. It's all open plan in here, is it right we would need 6 downlights to cover this area? Obviously being a kitchen area we would need the dowlights to be bright and day white. I'm gonna ask the spark to put a dimmer in but run all off 1...

    Fluctating led dimmer

Thanks all for the answers , you are no doubt right about the dimmer as its onky when i dim it the issue happens. It's a bit misleading of toolsation saying it's good for dimming leds. , I'm going to take it back to toolstation . Which one would could I get today to guarantee to work? I've...

    Fluctating led dimmer

Hi All. Been a long time since I've had a dimmer. I have bought a 14w paul Russel day white dimmable led bulb. I bought a toolstation dimmer (rated for leds) , now the light fluctuates brighter and duller , not all the time but when it does I have to adjust the dimmer then it settles. Any...

Hi I've decided to have a go at mitreing porcelain tiles around my window. I'm only a diyer but have done an ok job lol. I know everyone uses epoxy etc for the mitre edge. My question is , is there a cheaper option but is just as strong for the mitre edge . My budget is wiped after...

Hi. I'm quite savvy in that respect being an engineer i like to watch lol, he defo did it with it on. He had the mcbs out, when he showed me he then switched the CU off and re installed the mcb units . As I was in view before he called me (from hallway ) I looked round and he went across the...

    Neutral to earth fault

Hi He didn't mention a dead short or anything . Just showed me the buzz from neutral bar to the earth bar. He didn't test any further. Didn't un plug any appliances etc. He might have thought well I gave a set price for the CU change and its more effort now than he thought. I'm unsure. He...

    Neutral to earth fault

Thanks. I don't think we will ever know now. I think we will have to save up again to get someone out to check if it can be just a CU change to get a certificate. Thanks everyone

    Neutral to earth fault

Hi No , like I say he was a decent guy so definitely not a rip off person. You maybe right as when I looked the cables looked too short to come further out than the face plate.

    Neutral to earth fault

I'm more just wondering why he says he could change it then couldn't and gave us this fault. He seemed really genuine and was a nice bloke
