External junction box - gland nut seized

If it is swa cable then yes, it is gripped by the gland. If you don't have the correct tool, it can be awkward to grip inner nut. Try tapping it anti clockwise with an old chisel or slotted screwdriver. They're brass so hopefully not too corroded.

    Need help

aidy999 just to explain. Quite often, neutral wires (null line in your instructions) are not found behind the switch, only at the light bulb. Edit: What is the purpose of this new sensor switch?

    Electric shower goes cool

Have a look here.... https://www.tritonshowers.co.uk/electric-showers/aquatronic-3-ultra-electric-shower.html ...at the instructions for the main unit and the shower head, where you'll find info on cleaning the water inlet filter and the shower head from what may seem like an alarming amount of...

Replacing wall lights powered from switched socket

As Stardanny says but on a slight separate note... Where you describe a 'switched socket', do you mean it's a plug socket or just a switch? It looks like just a switch from your pic. If so this should be (easily) replaced with a switched fused control unit with correct rating fuse. And I hope...

mains sockets with 2 USB ports delivering 2.1A to both ports (not shared) ?

This may or may not be off topic but my Samsung tablet came with a 5.3 volt charger. I wondered why it took ages to charge via my Samsung phone charger...!

    Trousers With Large Thigh Pockets.

These are the best work trousers I've ever had. Just had a measure of both thigh pockets and they suit your requirements. I think good value too. http://www.tuffstuffworkwear.co.uk/workwear/tuffstuff-711-pro-work-trouser/

Connecting series of bulkhead lights with conduit... waterproof too

Why not do away with conduit and use these http://www.screwfix.com/p/tower-male-comp-gland-white-20mm-pack-of-2/45943 with round flex? I'm not sure if Screw fix glands come with a rubber seal but I know some brands do. You will also have to consider potential water entry into the light fittings...

how can i get kitchen downlighters to fade on and off?

I have come across an MK dimmer that had a soft start and according to reviews of this product this also has that feature. Be sure to check for maximum and minimum load requirements http://m.screwfix.com/p/mk-logic-plus-1-gang-2-way-dimmer-switch-mains-low-voltage-400w-white/48466

    Dangerous children's novelty light

There's been talk of tat Chinese imports of late so thought I'd pipe up. I've been asked if I can fix this... Extra low voltage power supply line and neutral pins snapped off leaving them not protruding, but exposed with shutter open, in a child's room. Pins are poor quality and appear undersized.

    Compression gland onto plastic conduit?

Today I saw a gland that was glued onto the end of plastic conduit. Is there a more suitable way of attaching this? Slightly related, has anyone attempted to thread plastic conduit?
