    UFH New Boiler

That's what my heating engineer also suggested, but added he would leave the boiler on 24/7 and fit individual room stats. I will run it as it is for a while and check usage. Then turn it of between 21.00 and 04.00 and see what difference it makes. Down rate the boiler if needed (d.00) -...

    UFH New Boiler

Thanks for the recent replies. Looks like I should have gone for a 24kw replacement, not a lot i can do about that now!! I have decided I will leave the boiler on 24/7 for the time being. A quick gas usage cost check for the past week works out at £3.36 a day. About 10% cheaper than the old...

    UFH New Boiler

Hi Tony Thanks for the reply. Setting the flow temp lower was what i suspected was needed. I have lowered it a little to 56 C and will see how it goes. May well lower the temp a little more over the next few weeks will see how it goes. I take it the lower the flow temperature back to the...

    UFH New Boiler

Hi No separate expansion vessel. However after installation we had it running all loops for 24hrs at 25 degrees room temp and coped with that ok. No programmer fitted to boiler, programmer works from the UFH manifold.

    UFH New Boiler

Just had a new Vaillant Eco Tech Plus 630 boiler fitted and the heating engineer has set the flow temp at 60 degrees from the boiler. Have 3 manifolds, 10 loops, all with adjustable mixing valves to control the mixed underfloor and under screed zones. The old boiler didn't have a programmable...

New Boiler Required - Recommendations Please

I thought £1800.00 - £2000.00 about right. £1200.00 for the boiler + flue including VAT. £600.00 - £800.00 to fit and supply odds and sods. Father in law paid £430.00 including VAT to have his boiler fitted as mentioned earlier. It is being fitted by my regular plumber, better the (old)...

New Boiler Required - Recommendations Please

Hi Now very short on time as the boiler is leaking constantly this morning. Several plumbers were too busy to even come and look until after Christmas.... Someone did manage to have a look at it late yesterday but the leak stopped lunchtime!! IMO he did as much as he could and left it for me...

New Boiler Required - Recommendations Please

Hi Thanks for the reply. Regarding the thermostats. I think this what happens. They are wired into a control box near each manifold, when there is a call for heat the sunvic value opens and the manifold pumps starts pumping. The water circulates lower the temperature at the boiler and the...

Maximum opening of first floor windows

Hi Thanks for the reply. There are two exits from the room that are fire escapes and this is one reason why I believe the restrictors are in place. The restrictors do have clips but also a locking nut is in place preventing full movement of the restrictor / opening of the window. I did...

garage loft space, boards and truss roof

Just boarded my garages centre roof space and don't see a problem with it as long as you are sensible with what you store up there. I used 8 x 4 sheets of 18mm chipboard cut in half and screwed onto the trusses. Where two sheets of chipboard rest on a single truss I screwed a piece of 3 x 2...
