    Radiators not heating up.

I'm not a boiler engineer but I do have the boiler and the manual in front of me and what you are telling me doesn't seem to relate to either. The hall sensor (AFAIAA) sits on top of the hydraulic inlet assembly, which is nowhere near the filter that I cleaned. Although I think I said that I...

    Radiators not heating up.

Okay I cleaned the filter on the cold water inlet tap. Pretty clean actually. I suspect though that you may be talking about the filter in the restrictor in the hydraulic inlet assembly under the hall effect sensor? If so, I have a Baxi Duo-Tec Combi 40 HE, I don't think the 40 models have a...

    Radiators not heating up.

I used F3 as a "pre soak" before he came. The pressure clean contractor used their own brand cleaner. The system got properly flushed afterwards and the water tests coming out showed no difference between sytem water and mains water.

    Radiators not heating up.

The system was professionally pressure cleaned last April. It was fairly clean then, (as in not much grime came out and the cleaning guy suggested that it hadn't really needed doing). Since that time there has been a magnaclean filter on the return pipe which has been checked every couple of...

    Radiators not heating up.

I can't ... but I could only touch the hub of the impeller. I tried with the end of a screwdriver, (it was pretty hot).

    Radiators not heating up.

My Baxi Combi Boiler is only heating my radiators up to tepid. The boiler is firing up okay, it is, according to the display heating the water to temperature and then the boiler is stopping gas. The radiator light on the boiler is coming on. One or two radiators on , I think, the front end of...

    Clutch on a Ford Focus

DMF I assume is Dual Mass Flywheel? When I took it back the second time they mentioned that it didn't have one. I am not sure what it is, what it does or whether it should have one? If I replace the clutch, (obviously through a different supplier as the current one won't touch me till I've...

    Clutch on a Ford Focus

I had a clutch go on my Ford Focus in April 2015. I had a local fitter (Household name company), fit me a new one. It came with a 24 month 24000 mile warranty. I always imagined a clutch should be good for at least 40000 but there you go. In Feb 2016, after 17000 miles the clutch started...

    Using a Magnaclense Cleaner

My central heating system is in need of a clean. It was built and then extended at least twice and has been fuzzing up the heat exchanger on the combi boiler regularly. In addition many of the radiators are getting hot at the top and sides with a cold bell curve in the centre. I have bought...

    Who you gonna call?

Thanks for that WabbitPoo (??!!??) Do you think that just gungho-ing it will also help me get girls and stop bigger boys kicking sand in my face at the beach? ;-)

    Who you gonna call?

Thanks for your replies guys Okay. Two things. Firstly there is some bounce in the floor. What does that tell us? and secondly ... If I wanted to get it professionally looked at and given that I have had a builder and a flooring specialist in to look at it and neither seemed to have a clue...

    Who you gonna call?

I have for a few years now been repairing, (rather than restoring), a three story Victorian house. I am going to fix the entire top floor as the next project. In two of the rooms the floors slope off quite badly downwards towards the wall. In one room they run off towards an internal wall in...

Baxi Boiler - Water gets hot then cold then hot.

Yeah. I suspect the latter. I turned off the system and, cold, it is still leaking. Stuck open I guess. Is this something I can take off and clean or does it need to be replaced? (Actually I can't find a spare for sale online - there seem to be replacements about for the pump vent but not...

Baxi Boiler - Water gets hot then cold then hot.

It just keeps getting better. The wife just ran a bath and the boiler started dripping quite quickly. I traced the leak back to water coming out through the air vent on the top of the boiler. Any thoughts?

Baxi Boiler - Water gets hot then cold then hot.

Is that an either/or, or should I really do both?

Baxi Boiler - Water gets hot then cold then hot.

This sounds useful Tony. Could you tell me what "much more work to remove and prevent further dirt getting into the boiler" would consist of?
