    Are these bricks…

Just a mix of reclaimed yellow and red stocks- the pile in front of the wall here I mean. Look a good match for our first floor extension, but about £1.90 a brick any comments appreciated!

Brick matching - East London Edwardian house

Yes the fillet is just a temporary thing, wonder could I get a brickie to mix in some red stocks or would that normally put their price up. Also if working with reclaimed rather than new stocks, do brickies normally charge more?

Brick matching - East London Edwardian house

Hi all, We will be building a part first floor rear extension and I want the bricks used to be as close a match as possible to those on the main house. The bricks had been covered with render/ Tyrolean, so we have had it sanded off as you can see from the photos. Some of the bricks have a...

15 mm or 20 mm engineered wood flooring

Hi putting an engineered wood floor on top of a 80mm screed with underfloor heating. I’ve been told that 20mm boards could leave the room colder but obviously they are better for sanding down in the future? Will it make that much difference to heating if we use 20mm engineered wood?

    Thickness of screed underfloor heating

Hi We are having underfloor heating put in our new kitchen diner extension, large area of approx 48m2. It has been suggested that 100ml screed and 100 ml insulation be used, or could go with 80mm screed and 120ml insulation. Would the extra thickness of the 100ml screed affect how warm the...

How to build parapet wall here....

As the wall is solid underneath there is not need for the parapet wall to have a cavity is there? On the extension we were going to build the parapet as a solid wall above the cavity wall too? I cant see the neighbour allowing us to take off the current tiles on the parapet wall and putting...

Hi Looking to build a parapet wall and box gutter above the frameless glass window seat that will be installed here. Do we need to add another course of bricks or two to the existing parapet wall between us and the neighbour (on right hand side of photo)? Although we get on well it might be...

    Permitted development in conservation area

I think thats what @DevilDamo is saying, due to the side element of the wraparound extension it cant be done under PD, so we had to apply for planning permission
