Peugeot 206 1.4 Auto idling issue?

It was the idle control valve. Has now been replaced and so far so good. Thanks Peter

Peugeot 206 1.4 Auto idling issue?

I hope it's not the ECU. The car seems fine when turning on the lights or air-con. I hope it's only the ICV and not numerous other sensors! The car is booked in for Monday, so we'll wait and see. Thanks Peter

Peugeot 206 1.4 Auto idling issue?

Thanks Jetex, I was thinking it might be the ICV but was a bit confused why it was only happening when warm. Will the valve and throttle body just need a clean or will the valve need to be replaced? How mush should this cost? Thanks Peter

Peugeot 206 1.4 Auto idling issue?

Hi Forum, My wife has a '01 206 1.4 automatic. The car starts and idles at 1100 when cold and 800 ish when warm. Issue - The engine suddenly starts to idle all over the place when she goes to park the car! On selecting reverse or putting the car into park, the engine will rev up and down...

    Fix a leak

Thanks for the reply. Drain point is above this point, on a radiator tail. Will draining all the water out the system be problematic?

    Fix a leak

Hi All Got a major leak on a 22-15-15 tee, solder joint failed. I have placed some Fernox LS-X and PTFE to hold the water, but still leaks under pressure. The joint is below floor level and will be difficult to drain. I'm not confident to carry this repair out. Can someone give me an idea...

    PTFE required?

Hi Simple question. Do radiator plugs/vents with an O ring require PTFE tape on the threads? Thanks Pete

    Valve suggestions please

I tightened the glands a few months ago, but the pressure still drops. The blanking nut and bleed valve have a little limescale deposit around the rubber seal, I have also tighten these. I'm not too concerned about the amount of water being lost but it's not ideal. Thanks

    Valve suggestions please

Hi All I have a number of LSVs with heavy green stains on top of the gland nuts. My system has been losing pressure, but very slowly, around 0.5 bar every three months. Could these valves be leaking? There's no other visable signs of leaking water around the spindle, just the staining. The...

    Gurgling noise from condense trap

Thank you to everyone for your replys. So, to summerise. The setup is fine, as in M.I, and safe so long as the water in the sink trap is not sucked out also. The bottle trap is fine but is likely to get blocked and is a pain to clean. Many thanks Peter

    Gurgling noise from condense trap

Hi JohnD Is the condensate trap/syphon in the boiler? This is where I can hear the gurgling from. http://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/cache/file/88/installation-and-servicing-instructions-for-greenstar-i-junior--manufactured-march-2005---july-2008.pdf Page 6, item 24. Should there be an...

    Gurgling noise from condense trap

Thanks Ben, The trap does have a 75mm seal, but I just read on the site below that it should only be used for basins. Should I change this for a standard P-trap? http://www.bhl.co.uk/category/Marley_Monitor_AntiSyphon_Bottle_Trap The condense is connected as below, but directly in to an...

    Gurgling noise from condense trap

Hi JohnD, No photos to hand, but did this diagram. Hope this helps? The condensate pipe joins straight to the 40mm waste pipe via a T-piece adaptop. The washing machine hose connects to a T-piece adaptor just below the sink, there's nothing else connected to the rest of the pipe...
