    New fridge freezer standing time

I've just unpacked my new side by side Samsung fridge freezer (US style) and put it in situ in the kitchen. I am aware that you are supposed to leave a fridge freezer to stand a while before switching on for the first time or after moving it etc. I was under the impression that they should be...

    Heat/moisture reflective foil?

Really? The stuff that was under my old worktop was purpose made stuff. Is there a place I can get it or do most people use the tin foil and glue method?

I've just had a new kitchen fitted and am yet to put the dishwasher under the worktop. I need some self adhesive foil for the underside of the worktop above the dishwasher. Where on earth do you buy the stuff? Thanks for any help.

Where to have a socket for Fridge Freezer installed

Thanks for the prompt reply Steve! I've checked the back in a store and it has a flat panel on the back that runs from top to bottom so no recess at all. The wife's not keen on a socket above  so is there another way?

Where to have a socket for Fridge Freezer installed

I'm having a new kitchen installed and have ordered a new side by side fridge freezer. I'll need an electrician to fit a plug socket for the fridge freezer but have no idea where one could go. The problem is that the fridgefreezer is only a couple of centimetres narrower than the wall it will...

Help! I think I've just lost my CH just before Christmas.

OK, I've found the Cylinder stat. It is numbered 1-5 and the boiler stat is actually numbered 1-6. What should I set these to to get a temp of around 80 degrees on the cylinder and 60/70 deg on the boiler?

I'm well aware I've been stupid in leaving it so long but the problem has been intermitant and money is really tight for me lately.

Help! I think I've just lost my CH just before Christmas.

Thanks for the help dangermouse. Now for the newbie questions: Where can I find the cylinder stat (do you mean the hot water cylinder?) There is a stat on the boiler but it is labeled 1-5, not in degrees. Sorry for my stupidity.

Help! I think I've just lost my CH just before Christmas.

Great, it's stopped again and the house is nowhere near up to stat temp. Nothing will get the boiler to fire up again. Any ideas as to what I can try?

Well typical! The boiler's just fired up and the rads are getting hot. That's about 30 minutes after I last fiddled with the stat to make it ask for CH.

Help! I think I've just lost my CH just before Christmas.

I have posted a few times regarding a faulty motorised valve. Please read this post for background info: http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=156952 Since that post, I have had a heating engineer out to look at the valve. He thought that the head of the valve needed replacing and...

CH takes a while (or not at all) to come on?

Thanks for that info Mandate. Any chance of a step by stepo guide on how to do that as I'm a novice? I can take a photo of the valve unit if it would help identify it?
