There is a fuel control module on the pump. Did you get one with the replacement pump or did you use the one off your old pump? If so it could be the pump module that needs replacing, they do not need reprograming. I had this problem with an Astra (isuzu engine), the pump developed a fault and...

If your sure it's coming from the rear.(if it's coming from the front it will probably be a cv joint) Try jacking the other side up and spin the wheel while listening for a rumbling sound, if you do hear it then change the bearing on that side. :wink:

unlikley its the cat...they are honeycombed. sounds like one of the silencers is breaking up internally. Have a look and see if you can see any damage to a silencer. Replacing the damaged one should cure the lack of power. :wink:

You could try a new set of plugs and H/T leads. :wink:

Check fuse no.12. (inside the car -drivers side). :wink:

Jack the car up and spin each rear wheel in turn to give you an indication of which side the noise is coming from. :wink:

Try the drivers side panel of the front foot well. Should be relay no2. :wink:

According to my info. The vehicles on long life service intervals need to be reset with diagnostic equipment. Only vehicles with fixed interval servicing can be done by the method you have tried. :wink:

It could be a hose , a gasket or the water pump. If you can't tell which, ask your local garage to look before you do damage to the engine. :wink:

What year and cc is your Micra ? (I have info. for the K11 model) :wink:

Look to the fuel cut off solenoid or your imobiliser (if fitted). You could also try a gallon can of diesel straight from a can to the pump via a length of tube, if that works it will mean a blockage or a leak ( sucking air in ) in the fuel line from the tank to the pump. :wink:

You probably have trapped air in the system, bleed it out by cracking open (until you get fuel out ) then closing the injectors in turn while someone else is turning the engine over. :wink:

Libby Which engine is in it? Autodata info...... If it's the 1.1 1.2 or 1.4 petrol engine, the E.C.U. is on the o/s inner wing. The 1.6 is in the centre console. If you use the link I gave you and ring them, they will help diagnose the problem and give you a price for repair or...

Put your car up on ramps, start the engine and have your mate cover the end of the exhaust with a rag. You look along the exhaust for the leak(s). :wink:
