    Windows 10 to 11 ??

Have a look here for the differences between 10 and 11: https://www.cnet.com/tech/computing/windows-11-vs-windows-10/ There are increased system requirements for 11, so an older machine that can run 10 may not be able to run 11: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_11 My personal view is...

    Troubles with mobile emails

I use Gmail on my Android with Plusnet Mobile frequently, and it works fine most of the time. I do find Plusnet's coverage intermittent, with drops in service even though it shows as connected. If I switch to airplane mode, wait a minute, then switch back it usually starts working again.

    Replace uPVC Window Sill Connector

Is it possible to replace a 135° angle joint/connector on a uPVC window sill without taking the whole frame out? Or do I just buy a connector, cut out the inside, glue to the top of the sill and hope it lasts?

    Windoes 11....

If you're on 7, you definitely need to upgrade because Microsoft has stopped releasing patches so it's a security vulnerability. If you're on 8 or 8.1, you've got another year before you'll need to upgrade in 2023. Does your hardware meet the minimum requirements or the recommended spec? Don't...

    Chrome v. Firefox

I use Firefox at home and Chrome at work. Firefox is more privacy-focused, but it takes that too far and blocks so many components that some pages don't work without intervention. Firefox was my preference for many years until they disabled most of the add-ons I liked with FFX 57 / Quantum in...

How to take head gear off compression mixer tap

Thank you. What you describe looks just like what I've got. Does the "Allen" part mean that it takes an Allen key? I've tried my key set and the hole is in between sizes. Do you think that's a metric vs. imperial thing?

How to take head gear off compression mixer tap

One side of my mixer tap suddenly stopped working - fine yesterday, nothing today. I'm guessing that either a washer has perished or I've overtightened and damaged the olive. I can't see what the actual problem is because I can't get the head gear off. I've removed the cover, but the head gear...

Vauxhall Corsa 2015 - Full Tyre or Space Saver for Spare?

Thanks for the suggestion. I found a full wheel with minimal scratches on the rim and brand new rubber for £90 delivered. I don't know why I didn't think of eBay - I buy other stuff on there all the time.

What is "Secure VPN" and do I need it?

Some providers spend a portion of their marketing budget on providing a free service with a low cap, with the expectation that people will try it out then buy a larger cap.

Vauxhall Corsa 2015 - Full Tyre or Space Saver for Spare?

Advice please... My wife got a puncture the other day and discovered there's no spare in the boot. TyreWeld rubbish lasted a whole 1.6 miles before the tyre was as flat as before, so I want to get a proper spare. - Full or skinny tyre? Obviously full handles better, but is it worth carrying the...

    SSD, disc drive or both?

Unless you've got documents that are gigabytes big, you're unlikely to notice the difference between loading them from the SSD or from the HDD. The SSD would respond in microseconds while the HDD would respond in milliseconds. I'd recommend you keep all documents in one location to keep your...

What is "Secure VPN" and do I need it?

When you connect to the internet, your service provider assigns your device a long number called an IP address. When you open a website, your browser sends the IP address to the website, because that the website needs to know where to send the data you've requested. Think of it as a temporary...
