Washing Machine Waste Hose, underfloor boards - Is it a crazy idea.

Interesting to see pic, thanks. So the waste pipe for the current kitchen sink how does that exit the property and where does it discharge to outside? Does it drop down under the floor into the ceiling void and then out or does it go out of the wall in the corner you have indicated but above...

Washing Machine Waste Hose, underfloor boards - Is it a crazy idea.

If you went straight out of the wall with a waste pipe behind the new washer dryer position could you run this to a gully, hopper or soil stack nearby? if so,that’s what I would do. If not you’ll have to go under the floor in waste pipe and either join in to the waste pipe for the sink if it’s...

Washing Machine Waste Hose, underfloor boards - Is it a crazy idea.

Presume you mean the washing machine drain hose not the inlet hose... If you drop it under the floor and into a waste pipe then you’re going to have to keep a fall on that pipe out to the external drain. So long as you bear this in mind you should be fine

Should toilet waste pipe have gradient from toilet to wall?

assuming you are going straight out of the wall 4 inches or so behind the pan you can drill a hole level with the pan spigot -so long as you use the right size core drill (127 mm for 110mm soil ) You can then create a very slight fall from the pan connector. You don’t need to drill the hole...

Should toilet waste pipe have gradient from toilet to wall?

You can drill your hole level with the pan spigot if you want. what happens if you put too much of a gradient on that first length of pipe from the pan is your first soil elbow outside the wall looks p***ed.So unless it’s a huge long run from the pan to the stack just drill it level and it will...

    Non-matching roof tiles on extension-worth a moan?

He wants to use them as he presumably got them for a good price- the guy that sold them to him dropped them here today. I don't want to fall out with the builder as up to now things have been ok but I think he's taking a liberty here. As mentioned he brought a sample of them to show me a few...

2 gang switch -only 1 live in-is this common?

a wire disconnected and left that way unterminated inside a back box or ceiling void could be a hazard if someone connected it at one end only to a live supply. It happens.

    Ceiling rose wiring

problem fixed by replacing 30 year old dimmer switch which had ceased to operate . Some choc block wiring found in ceiling void explains the unusual wiring at the rose.

    Ceiling rose wiring

Was sent this photo by a family member of their ceiling rose. Light had stopped working (previously working ok for years) it was discovered that the brown supply to the lamp had become detached from the rose so they assumed this was the problem. But after reconnecting it the light is still not...

Shower enclosure wall channels- buy separately anywhere?

Anyone seen these available anywhere to buy separately? Had to remove an enclosure to take out a 760 tray that was poorly fitted. The wall channels were bonded to the tiles with so much silicone they could only be removed using violence and are now unserviceable. The pivot door and side panel...

    Water inlet to cistern leaking

You sure the threads aren't damaged on the inlet valve? Can happen If the nut has been overtightened or slightly cross threaded at some point. Does the copper pipe pull up enough to fully tighten the nut onto the threads-even 1mm short and this can happen. You could try a fibre washer AND a...
