Nooooooooo ..... my daughter had a smart meter .....but switched to another supplier who does not use smart meters.......her new supplier has asked her to send in her monthly usage readings.......but when checking the meters in her meter box(where the smart meter is located).....she could not...

OK. ..not physically turned off....but the original utility company who installed it has turned off the readings element as they no longer will be using it....so its just a blank screen now when looking at it.

Hi,no I did not mean to lead you into thinking I would turn off the power ...but the now "turned off" Smart Meter shows No readings just blank screen....so to get to the actual readings now I have pressed an arrow (on the Smart Meter ) and it shows the actual readings

So I guess from all this chat then....the company disconnects the smart meter (turns it off) and I press a button or arrow ( on the now turned off Smart meter )to display the current readings .....cheers

Hi, as we know nothing about smart meters we assumed that the readings would still be on the display even though they would not be read automatically,... YES there are buttons and a Left and Right arrows too,....so I assume we press the arrows or buttons to get an actual reading (trial and error...

But there is NO readings on it.....just blank screens .....and the new supplier wants my daughters first readings now.

Hi guys, as the title says...Who Actually Turns Off a Smart Metre....my daughter just switched energy suppliers and the new supplier does not use Smart Meters ..so we know it will/should be turned off....BUT who actually turns it off .....the Old Utility Company or my daughter ? Cheers anyone...

Thank you for the reply/replies....having now looked into things a bit more I have found that where the black circle/hole (see pic) there should be a clock/dial BUT that has been removed and apparently replaced with a remote control system (again see pics please)....there is nowhere to set...
