Managed to mess up a simple job. Screwing into plasterboard...

No idea - how would I find that out?

Managed to mess up a simple job. Screwing into plasterboard...

Thanks both - I take it this will screw easily into the hole I've already (accidentally) created despite it saying no need for drilling?

Managed to mess up a simple job. Screwing into plasterboard...

Hi all, Bought an Ikea knife magnet to go on the wall in my kitchen. Drilled two holes and screwed some screws I had into the wall - quickly realised I'd messed up and the screws weren't holding. Long story short I ended up with two lovely holes and a knife magnet back in its packaging. Just...

Wardrobe leaning heavily on sloping floors - any ideas?

Thanks - the item is a baby wardrobe so a 3cm foot might look quite unwieldy - here's a pic of the wardrobe itself.

Wardrobe leaning heavily on sloping floors - any ideas?

My concern here is just how much of a gap there is - one side is 2.5cm, the other is just over 3cm.

Noob question - how would I wire a light into this fitting?

Hi - I need to wire a light with standard blue, yellow/green and brown wire into this ceiling fitting: I can't seem to find any guide on which parts to add wires to. Apologies for the stupid question but every time I've tried to Google this the diagrams show many more wires.

Wardrobe leaning heavily on sloping floors - any ideas?

Thanks - I’ll make sure I get the front spot on. The wardrobe comes with a piece of material that attaches to the top of the wardrobe, onto the wall. I was planning just to attach that, following the instructions, when I was sure the legs were correct. Would this not offer enough support do you...

Wardrobe leaning heavily on sloping floors - any ideas?

Amazing - thank you. This is a very stupid question but what would you suggest is the best way to attempt to get it right first time? Measure the lift at the front on each side and remove that measurement from the legs at the back? Apologies for how stupid this question is, I don't want to muck...

Wardrobe leaning heavily on sloping floors - any ideas?

Hi all, Just put up a baby wardrobe in our nursery and I'm quite shocked at just how uneven the floors are in this house - pictures below show roughly how far the front needs tilting. How would you approach fixing the way the wardrobe leans? I've got an extra piece of wood in the same finish...

Bathroom lights - 3 on, 3 off - any ideas why?

Thanks - so you think there's no chance it's something like the connection to the light itself, etc?

Bathroom lights - 3 on, 3 off - any ideas why?

I've got 2 rows of ceiling lights in diffusers in my bathroom ceiling. The row on the right all work fine, but after one light flickered and went out, the whole row on the left are failing to illuminate. Replacing the bulbs hasn't helped, so I'm guessing it's perhaps a loose connection...

Is this structural damage from storing too much in the loft?

Phew. Thanks so much for putting my mind at ease!

Is this structural damage from storing too much in the loft?

It's a Victorian house and we have buses that roar past all day and night (and shake the house), but my concern is because it has only appeared in the last 2 months - since putting stuff in the loft.

Is this structural damage from storing too much in the loft?

This morning I noticed these cracks had appeared in 2 bedrooms of my house and I'm worried I've done something very stupid by putting too much stuff in our loft. http://i.imgur.com/FjPLUC5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/HAQxuAi.jpg I'm clearing the loft out as soon as I get in but I wanted to ask...

    Filling holes in kitchen cabinets?

Wow, fantastic, thanks. Only slight issue - they are Ikea cabinets! It says not suitable - why would that be?

    Filling holes in kitchen cabinets?

I've moved into a new flat and after a few weeks the door has fallen off one of the cabinets! It's a wooden cabinet and as you can see from this pic, someone has tried to put the doors on (badly) a few times. http://imgur.com/jju8w11 What would be the best way to get the doors back on? Is...
