Paint bubbling on exterior retaining wall. What can be done?

Thanks for your reply. No I didn't water it down. I will try that. I wasn't sure if that was just for interior painting. Do you know if it's possible to get a thread moved?

Paint bubbling on exterior retaining wall. What can be done?

Hi We have a blockwork retaining wall which was smooth rendered then left for a year before painting with Sandtex smooth masonry paint. This was done last summer but a few weeks ago I noticed that it is bubbling in places, so I will be removing the bubbling paint before repainting. Is there...

    Replacing MR16 bulbs with LEDs

So if I did go with GU10 240v, which bulbs could give me equivalent to 50w? As I mentioned in my original post there are various claims from 5w to 8w so it's very confusing. Cheers

    Replacing MR16 bulbs with LEDs

Sorry about that, I should have mentioned that the bulbs are 12v with GU5.3 bases. Just checked and they are 10-60W/VA Low Voltage Electronic Transformers. I would prefer to keep to the same fittings we have rather than change to 240v if possible as I don't think I could get the exact same...

    Replacing MR16 bulbs with LEDs

Hi Our kitchen has 16 MR16 downlights with 50w bulbs in. As we have been replacing the rest of the house with LED bulbs I have been looking at the MR16 options. I have seen various ones from 5w to 8w all saying they are 50w equivalents. Can anyone suggest an LED which is equal to 50w in cool...

    Chip on porcelain basin

I have just fitted twin white basins to our new en-suite and noticed a small chip on one of them. Is there anything I can use to fill/repair it? I would be grateful for any tips or advice. Regards

Basin waste connector to remote trap.

Thanks for that. The cap and lining into a 90 degree bend then to a P trap then to another 90 degree would possibly fit. Don't know if that would be too many bends though.

Basin waste connector to remote trap.

I have got to the point in our new en-suite of connecting the two vanity basins. These units have drawers so very little room for a trap without having to cut through the drawers at the back. I have seen shallow basin traps but the outlet from that would be too high to connect to the...

Large porcelain tiles - Advice please

I have got to tile a new bathroom which we have built as part of an extension. The walls are 12.5mm plasterboard and 12mm ply where the shower is going, this bit I intend to tank as well. The tiles we have are polished porcelain 600x300 by 9mm thick. I know I have to use special adhesive but...

    Rounding coombed ceiling

We may be at cross purposes here. The levels are blended between the old part of the house and the extension as I packed out the board to make up the difference, that is where the problem lies. I just want to make it less noticeable so thought that rounding it off would be the way to go. If I...

    Rounding coombed ceiling

That would leave me with about a 35mm gap at the bottom though. I would also have to do it at the other side of the room so a total of a 9 metre run.

    Rounding coombed ceiling

No I wasn't planning on getting it skimmed, just taped and finished. I thought by doing this myself beforehand it would save time when I get someone in to do it.

    Rounding coombed ceiling

Yes it is two different levels. My thought is that if the angle is rounded then it won't be as noticeable.

    Rounding coombed ceiling

Here is one which may give you an idea of the problem. I can take a better one if that's not good enough.
