Screwfix or Toolstation searches, missing the paper catalogues.

I know exactly what you mean Malx - I don't think the search option on their websites is any good (or Wickes either)! Like Blup, I always do a Google search instead. If you go on the "shopping" tab on Google and also do the "What's Nearby" filter, you tend to get options coming through you don't...

Yeah, I thought that might be the case, sadly - thank you for confirming though

After a recommendation, please? For a socket with terminal clamps and USB ports

Honestly, I'm wondering if I'm a bit arthritic in my wrist because the twisting motion is killing! Anything to avoid less screwing

After a recommendation, please? For a socket with terminal clamps and USB ports

Hiya, thank you for reading this! I have found the MK Logic plus rapid fix switched sockets with white inserts, which look pretty good, but I'm after a screwless socket that also has USB ports and can't find one - I'm hoping someone on here can point me in the right direction, please

Please can someone check my plan is sensible re hardwalling the house and sealing it with drywall adhesive?

I've just looked at several fans described as "Single Room MVHR Units" and they all use a "heat exchange cell".

Please can someone check my plan is sensible re hardwalling the house and sealing it with drywall adhesive?

"Whole house MVHR (or MEV) is necessary for very air tight buildings, but can be used for the lesser air tight ones as well. Decentral continuous Mechanical Extract Ventilation (dMEV) is recommended for the mid to not so air tight dwellings."

Please can someone check my plan is sensible re hardwalling the house and sealing it with drywall adhesive?

"Air is passed over a heat exchange cell which recovers and retains the heat that would otherwise be lost from the extracted air." Do you think it's gimmicky nonsense? I'd just assumed they were a legitimate MVHR system because I'd not come across anyone saying to avoid them ...

Please can someone check my plan is sensible re hardwalling the house and sealing it with drywall adhesive?

Thank you, I'm currently in the process of researching MVHR fans Yeah - I've got everything crossed that the walls are able to release back any moisture using the building materials above. I'll do either CWI or EWI, I think, down the line so the walls can carry on hopefully expelling...

Please can someone check my plan is sensible re hardwalling the house and sealing it with drywall adhesive?

We have cavity walls. I don't know if they've been filled or not - I need to find a specialist company to investigate that. The house isn't particularly drafty but we've got the ceilings down anyway so I decided to sort out the airtightness while it's easy to do. I'm good at plastering. Good...

    Ideal location for bathroom extractor

The folks above know loads more than me about this stuff and what I'm about to say could be wrong but my electrician said, when we were talking about where to put my fan, don't put the fan in the ceiling because condensation will drip out of it - he said the external wall is a much better place...

Please can someone check my plan is sensible re hardwalling the house and sealing it with drywall adhesive?

Hiya, thank you so much for reading this. I'm trying to get our house a little warmer. First question is do you know if Hardwall is airtight, please? Wondering about doing an 11mm thick coat all around the house up into the loft. Bit pointless though if it's not airtight? If it is airtight...

Would building a batton wall on the inner side of an exterior cavity wall cause any problems?

Aw, thank you!! Glad to finally know what to do!! :-) Two main reasons for not chasing - the old plaster is vile, I can't face the dust and coughing that would ensue from chasing out. And also, I'm always changing stuff around so ensuring that there's easy access to the wiring is...

How to install curtains...advice needed please

Your doors and windows are beautiful but there's not a lot of room above, is there :-( You could get a curtain pole bent to shape (there are companies that can do this for you) or you can get pre-bent ones online and then you could fasten them from above?

Would building a batton wall on the inner side of an exterior cavity wall cause any problems?

Hiya, thank you for reading this :-) The details are: the house is a 1987 build with: Red brick outer skin, Cavity (I don't have any more info about the cavity at the moment as all our stuff is in storage), Thermalite blocks, Thick plaster (12mm approx), And a skim coat of plaster. On top of...
