PB or PEX pipe for water and GCH?

Both are barrier pipes and from what I've found on the web PEX seems better and more advanced: http://www.plasticpipe.org/pdf/tn-31_difference_between_pex_and_pb.pdf So, I'm surprised to find in Toolstation PEX is the cheaper of the two! What are the differences and what do you guys use?

    Securing and supporting Speedfit pipework

I'm running a GCH system in it. I'm going to use the pipe securing clips with nails every 3 or 4 joists when running over. How about running alongside joists? Do I need to support the pipe or can it just rest on the plasterbaord of the downstairs ceiling?

Sizing of speedfit piupes for GCH and water

Cheers folks - the guideline of 22mm feeding upto 3 rads then 15mm from there sounds sensible and was the sort of rule of thumb I was looking for. I'll design with this principle. Thanks again!

Sizing of speedfit piupes for GCH and water

It was actually teh plumber on my last flat who suggested I could have run the GCH in future. 9.5 or 12.5mm plasterboard for ceilings?

I'm going to board over existing lathe and plaster. Is there any disadvantage to using 12.5mm board apart from 30p per sheet and the extra weight to lift? (it's stronger apart from anything else)

When is a wall not a wall (for BC purposes)

I'm basically building a sloping wall above a stairwell on the first floor - the idea is to gain more space in the room neext to the stairs rather than have a huge wasted space above the stairs on the 1st floor. Is this BC notifiable? Obviously if soemone fell through it from within the room...
