    Old wiring on new CU?

I've had a new CU installed for part refurb, its larger then needed so once the second part of the house is refurbed in a few years, i can (hopefully) go back to a single consumer unit instead of the three i have now. Meanwhile, two of the old units are kind of in the way, and im wandering if i...

Just want to check wiring on 2 port

The aim is to use weather comp, i don't see what the difference is with the relay in place and not. From the original diagram, the grey and orange energise the relay, which connects the two pins... So why not use the grey/orange to connect the pins and ensure that the valve is open when firing...

    Insulating a skylight

The sky light is prob about 50 by 100 (off the top of my head), the unit came from the factory where my dad works so cant help with that! Most high street glazing companies should be able to supply you with the unit - just make sure its either toughened or laminated, Explain to them where it is...

    Insulating a skylight

My dad did something similar, but he used a double glazed sealed unit. Prepared a wooden frame of tapered, carved etc and primed timber battons, once ready, I held the glass unit up, while he secured the frame to the upstand. Once in place, he topped the battons with draft excluder's and then...

Just want to check wiring on 2 port

Just wanted to check the wiring on 2port valves, so long as i connect live and neutral, the valve opens, (ie brown and blue), The Orange and Grey are effectivly in built switches to turn on something else - any voltage/current going through them would be whatever is put in at one end?

    Honeymoon destinations...

I went to Antigua, though i'd say your destination is very much about the kind of places you want to go. My wife and i are very much sit by the pool/beach and relax first, with a bit of sight seeing. Antigua ticked those boxes for us, few things to do on the island, a few boat trips to...

Detering burglars checking that your house is unoccupied

Im considering putting a small but clearly visible cctv screen ( cheap £20 jobie off ebay) which comes on based on PIR, showing the image of person/persons at the front door- using a camera mounted on the door itself... Person walks to the front door- PIR turns on the screen, and they suddenly...

Thanks for the image, confirms the wiring to the boiler, im using Splan + at the moment so may have to go with the diagram from kim.
