    Peelaway - what next?

Results of another coat: I think the next step is heat gun + scrape what remains. This process has taken ages and it is very very messy. Let this be a warning to anyone who watches a YouTube video about this and goes away thinking it will be magic...

    Peelaway - what next?

Good advice thanks - I'll try another coat and report back. I've got a cheap titan hoover that attaches to my sander pretty well but want to avoid this just to be on the safe side!

    Peelaway - what next?

Thanks guys, yeah the lead is the mean concern. The result above is from just one Peelaway coat so I think I might just try another one this weekend and see how it goes. It is expensive though!

    Peelaway - what next?

I see, I would get if dipped but the other side is actually beautifully painted so I wouldn't want to lose that. I suppose that leaves me with another coat of Peelaway :(

    Peelaway - what next?

I've got a front door that's covered in lead based paint. There were multiple layers. I used Peelaway 1 but there is quite a bit of residue left and bits where the last layer of paint hasn't shifted. I've attached some before and after pics. What next? Should I add another layer of the stuff...

CH not working intermittently in evening?

Hi all - an update on this - the issue went away on it's own but now it appears to be back! The heating has been mostly off all summer. I bled the radiators in preparation for the colder weather (a fair bit of air was in the system) and re-pressurised to 1 bar but the heating just doesn't work...

CH not working intermittently in evening?

I had my entire heating system replaced last year. Chucked out dated single panel radiators, ripped out the pipework (zinc/truwell stuff) and replaced the boiler which had died (PCB board). I've now got a Viessmann 111-w boiler, column radiators and copper pipework (10mm microbore with 15mm...

Lead (?) roof - vertical boiler flue

My feeling so far, is that if I want to do this properly, it's probably best to engage a competent lead roofing specialist. Here is what the wall looks like from the inside (marked in red where the boiler will go): Here's the outside:

Lead (?) roof - vertical boiler flue

It's a really thick stone wall that looks like it will be a total pain to core through

Lead (?) roof - vertical boiler flue

Hi all, I'm having my boiler moved to a new location and I'm thinking specifically about where the flue will go. The walls in this area are thick stone and we plan to avoid coring through this by cutting into the flat lead (I think?) roof and venting out that way. Is this a stupid idea? I've...

    Damp lime plaster

The (lime?) plaster in my utility room appears to have become damp over the years, cracked and fallen off the wall when a new boiler was mounted. I've not been in this house long and I've started renovating. Wanted some advice on what to do about this. Should I just replaster the bits that have...

    Truwell/Truweld/Trueweld pipes

    Truwell/Truweld/Trueweld pipes

Hi all, I'm at the start of a long renovation of my home and one of the first things I'm looking at is plumbing/electrics and looking at getting the place re-wired and having the heating system updated. Been going back and forth on what to upgrade the current vented boiler/water tank with and...

Black mould on painted bathroom ceiling

HG mold spray is magic - definitely look at addressing the underlying issue first though - extractor fan, insulation etc
