    Turf keeps dying

Thanks everyone for your posts and help on this one. I have issues with my back and when I have attempted to re-seed portions of the garden before, by digging down a bit with a trowl and then putting in top soil plus seeds, it has left me in pain, so not sure how viable it will be for me to do...

    Turf keeps dying

How much work do you think would be involved in terms of getting it done myself. I have dug down into the edge of some of the grass and this is the state of the soil underneath..

    Marks in toilet bowls

Hi, this has been doing this since the day I moved in. I put those blue tablets in to try and clean the cistern out thinking maybe there was an obstruction, so Roca can't say it is the tablets as for months, I had exactly the same with normal water. If anything, the tablets make it easier for me...

    Marks in toilet bowls

Thanks everyone for your helpful posts on how to remove it. I have informed the builders who say as I am shared ownership, I am outside of my 1 year defect period. The house is not even two years old yet, but if you ask me, it is nothing but another cop out. The toilet is made by Roca. I have...

    Marks in toilet bowls

Hi, I am in a new build, since day one, I have had limescale marks in my toilet bowl. I have tried everything to remove the marks, but not been able to. I put some of those coloured things into the cistern in the hope to flush the thing out, but all it has done is highlight how much water must...

    Turf keeps dying

Thanks everyone for your posts. As much as I agree, it might be easier to do it myself, having had to scrape by to afford this place, and only a share of it at that, I am now working all hours I can to pay my rent and mortgage. I just don't have the time and shouldn't be having to. What I have...

    Turf keeps dying

Thanks for your post. I didn't know at the time, but the housing association in question had to "buy back" a substantial amount of new build properties it sold in London due to them being substandard. Unfortunately for me, it looks like the next step is going to be legal action. I am most...

    Turf keeps dying

Hello, Thanks for your post. The problem I have is that all of the neighbours outright bought their properties from the builder, where as mine is shared ownership. When they bought theirs, they had to pay additional money for turf, so they have got far much more leverage as they clearly paid for...

    Turf keeps dying

Hi everyone, Just a followup, I went back to the builders about the poor state of the turf in my new build property in October 2019. With some help from you guys, I went back to them with the following: I have looked into the state of the garden and taken into consideration a few pieces of...

Is my wiring suitable for a Nest?

Thanks, yes that was the plan, one to replace each existing thermostat! :)

Is my wiring suitable for a Nest?

I am trying to get to the bottom of if the wiring in my one year old property is suitable for a Nest Learning Thermostat. I have a two bed house, one Potterton Combi Boiler and two zones, one zone for downstairs with thermostat and one for upstairs with thermostat. Both just for controlling...

    Loft Boards

Thank you, I will have a measureup and see if they fit the joists. Funny you have suggested these as at the bottom of the product page, it suggests I might like to buy the chipboard loft panel pack that I already have, so chances are high that these will work.

Rough idea on price for mounting TV to pasterboard?

I didn't know they existed, but I put my thinking cap on and thought, Amazon is bound to have something. If you get them from Ebay or other chinese websites, they are about £2-3 each, but the shipping times are almost a month. I paid more and got it next day with Amazon. Job is done and dusted...

    Loft Boards

Hi there, I am looking for some advice. I would like to make the most of these loft boards I got from B&Q. They are nothing special, but have come in handy for laying down in the loft and putting my Christmas decoration boxes on. I have laid them inbetween two joists. Can anyone recommend...

Did they never release one become two - maybe the Chinese equivalent song?! Either way, that is what I have gone for....one become twoooyoohoooo. I need some love like......

Rough idea on price for mounting TV to pasterboard?

1 figure 8 cable from loft for TV and Apple TV. Done, no need for cable going up the wall to TV anymore to power Apple TV.

Rough idea on price for mounting TV to pasterboard?

It looks fine, I have bought one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PLVM2R2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This will mean no more wire dangling down the wall. Just means if ever I add a games console or something, I am going to have to cut a hole in the plaster...

Thank you, had not thought of that. I have the backboxes, so will give it a go when I have a chance.

Perfect, thanks. If I get time, I will nip into ScrewFix and get one, but not sure when I will next be passing them. Thanks again.

Rough idea on price for mounting TV to pasterboard?

I agree, should have just gone with the two guys, but lesson learned and at least it is up. Do you think I can cut the plaster with a knife or should I go and get a proper saw? Glad I stood and watched though as I have learned a lot today and would be able to do my own in future.
