How to Trim 20mm off the top off a brick?

Do you know of a way to trim the top instead? The bottom of the bricks are below floor level and not very accessible. I’d have to smash them from the top and it wouldn’t work very well tbh

How to Trim 20mm off the top off a brick?

Hello all, I’m laying a laminate floor and where a brick wall has been opened into a doorway the floor hasn’t been levelled properly. I’ve got floorboards which butt up to the bricks but they are 15-20mm higher. This seems too much for a laminate floor and it will be neater to be able to run...

    Another stuck tap handle

So the replacement cartridge will have splines? Just make sure the overall length is the same?

    Another stuck tap handle

So it doesn’t have any splines, just a tiny indentation for the grub screw to hold onto. I don’t know the tap make so will a spline version work, as long as the other dimensions are the same?

    Another stuck tap handle

Yes it’s dripping but also leaks a little from the handle too, so I did think a replacement would solve both. The cartridge itself looks a little different from the videos I’ve seen, should it be treated differently?

    Another stuck tap handle

Thank you both for your help, didn’t have much luck with lever but with some newspaper protection this did the trick. Sometimes you just need a bit of confidence backing to force something knowing you’re not going to break it. Now I just need to do the actual job of changing the cartridge…

    Another stuck tap handle

Okay, I’ve tried a bit but it could be quite stiff then. A while ago the cold tap was a problem and I can’t remember having any problems.

    Another stuck tap handle

I’ve undone the grub screw but the tap handle won’t come off it seems like it’s still connected to something If I force it around more than the quarter turn there is a grinding do I need to force it off? Cue the cartoon style plume of water from the tap I appreciate your help

Cleaned sink waste but now it gurgles

Unscrewed the top of the vent, took out the washers cap and insert but there was nothing obstructing the vents. If I leave the top off it doesn’t gurgle

Cleaned sink waste but now it gurgles

Yes that’s what the extra bit is. I did look at this when I tried to fix the gurgle the first time but I’ll check it more thoroughly. I’ll try the sink without the top on the vent as a test maybe

Cleaned sink waste but now it gurgles

This first floor sink was very slow at draining so I removed the waste a bend part and sure enough it was clogged full of black gunge. Now I have put it back after rinsing it out bit the sink gurgles as the last bit of water drains. It didn’t do this before. Help please!

Skirting adhesive pulling paint off wall

Would sealing with pva work/help also? What do you do if tiling over a painted wall?

Skirting adhesive pulling paint off wall

Hi all I’m sticking skirting and architrave onto a painted wall but the wood is falling off. The solvent free adhesive is sticking to the paint and pulling that off the wall, so the skirting is coming away. I know I can screw the skirting on but I also have architrave that I need to only...

Hi all, I have a pendant light with built in LEDs. Is this able to be dimmed? If so what type of dimmer switch is needed? If not then could the driver pictures be changed? Thanks, Tom

They work the correct way, don't know if the box is mounted upside down though? If that makes any difference. Thanks for your help though.
