I have two bathrooms to tile and would prefer not to spend £170 on a manual tile cutter (i.e Rubi TS50) Can anyone recommend a cheaper cutter that can cut 320 * 320 tiles diagonally.
Thanks
The tiles I like only come in 30cm * 45cm, but look to big for the room. I was thinking of cutting them in half (30 * 22.5). I problem I can see is getting them the same size. How do think they will look when grouted? Is it a bad idea?
Thanks
Hi WoodYouLike,
If I stand with one foot on either side of the join, only the tongue edge moves / squeaks, the nailed side is ok. Floor has been down for about 18 months, do you think if will get worse?
Thanks
I fitted 22mm oak floor over 22mm chipboard by using secret nails into the joists, but they squeak which drive me mad. The tongues are moving (up and down) in the groves. I wish I had glued them.
I wish I could do something to stop them from squeaking.
I had not thought about the corners, I was meant were two sheets of plasterboard butt up to each other on the same wall, one edge is cut, so not 100% straight, gap about 2 or 3mm is some places. Should I use tape for this or just fill it adhesive?
I have plasterboard walls and will tank around the bath, but what should I use to fill the gaps where two sheets of plasterboard meet.
Can I tile directly on to plasterboard where it has not been tanked or does it need some type of primer / pva
thanks
I'm installing a Grohe built-in valve, and have a L shaped shower elbow with male thread, but i'm not sure what type if fitting I need in the wall. I was thinking of using a female coupling with a push fit, so when I screw the two together and should the elbow not point downwards, I can twist...
I have just purchased a Grohe basin mixer tap that has 10mm pipes and and a Grohe basin frame which has fitting for hot and cold water pipes 15mm thread.
I need a bit so I can join the tap with the frame fitting. Have looked on screwfix, but cannot find the part I need. Any idea, what I need...
I have just had a unvented direct cylinder installed.
The hot waters comes out very cloudy, but does clear after about 15-30 seconds. Does anyone know what this is or why it happens. Tiny air bubbles ?
I need mains pressure hot, and do not want to use a pump.
There is lots of info on unvented systems, but not much on vented (e.g torrent system) Has you used / installed these, is it a better option over unvented?
If I were to install a unvented system, is there much difference, apart from...
Is it ok to use Osmo Oil on Oak veneer doors?
I put one coat on my stairs handrail and spindles, should I sand these down before putting a 2nd coat on?
I have decided to get a new PC, must be Dell with XP pro 32bit.
It will only be used for database and email so must have fast hard drives due to very large files and must be better than my existing PC. My current issue is with the I/O
I friend has suggested,
4*GB ram DDR2 800 mhz...
I was thinking of changing to RAID 5, but I have been told I would lose disc space, as I could only RAID 2 of them (1*36gb 2*136gb) and I do not have any free slots to add another drive. I was also told it may not speed even speed up the I/O.
What are the fastest type of hard drive for a desk top. I currently have SCSI drives (15,000 speed) but the bottle neck is I/O.
I need to read / write large data files. (databases in excess of 100m rows)
Way back in the past I got Excel 5 / 95 , to create a pivot table from different data ranges from different tabs.
I need to do this at work, but can not get it to work. My data list is over 65,000 rows and I will not be able to upgrade excel to a newer version
Another way is to use a format.
from top line of excel click
format / cells / special / key in 00001 or 000000001 etc
this will create a format with leading 0's
It's the pulling of the light switch that wakes me up. When this is sorted I may need a silent toilet.
I'll give this a try, if still too loud, I'll look into a PIR.
Thanks for your help.
