    Another consumer unit question. Moving.

This was classed as a consumer unit at the time. This was purchased as a consumer unit and was a first install in a new house 2004. Where I am, they all are like this from anything built at the time. Today though, things have changed. It's comforting to know cables can be extended without...

    Another consumer unit question. Moving.

O I know this isn't a diy job. Like I said on my last post, I wouldn't touch this or let anyone near it who's not qualified. Not a chance I'd put my life at risk letting anyone near it who's not registered and qualifed. All the circuits for the house are coming from above into this consumer...

    Another consumer unit question. Moving.

Yes I'll be having a spark come look at it. I'm not comfortable even taking the cover off or even switching an fuse off in any consumer unit she wouldn't even attempt to go near this. Was just curious as to why you said bin and replace it. Everything working perfectly. It was an electrician...

    Another consumer unit question. Moving.

Yes, I was thinking this hence why I was hoping to move it in the process. One thing thou, the cables I don't think stretch anymore.

    Another consumer unit question. Moving.

See pics. I had a new insulated plasterboard ceiling installed in my house s few years ago and the consumer unit cover was cut to accommodate the new ceiling. You can still get to all connections when the cover is off so not to bad. I will be getting an electrician to connect a 10sq swa...

    2 questions

Here's some pics of the actual light. Is that live to live rather than live into the block or another wire with the t&e coming from consumer unit. This light was in the shed, I took it into the house and there's moisture all over it. Would this be an issue?

One is a simple question that is about this cable on the roll. Sent the misses for 2.5 cable but she came back with this. I'm 99.9% it's 1.5 cable instead of 2.5mm for sockets that I needed. See pic of the roll. Second question is I picked up this light in screwfix and I already have a 1 5...

Needing to find same router bits

Needing to find same router bits

I found this reversible router bit very close to what I need. I might just go for this one and some planned 5x1 and see how I get on. TBH, I think they will be ok. I'm not thst fussed about them being exactly the same and who even looks at kitchen doors for all them to be exact anyway.

Needing to find same router bits

Where I am it's difficult to get joinery grade timber. Only red or white deal you call it although some of the planned timber doesn't look to bad.

Needing to find same router bits

Yes but can you tell the difference from painted mdf to painted timber The router I have is 1/2 inch although it's a cheaper version since I wouldn't use it that often. Got it in screw fix.
