    hissing in radiators

A few of the radiators around the house have a hissing sound/air sound in them. I turned a few down to 3 instead of 5 and that seems to stop it but sometimes it come back. None of them are cold at the top, which would normally mean they needed bleeding so I am not sure what this is...

not sure I can as it's a hose that fits to a filter bottle to filter out hard water. Seems to have a specific size on one end that is hard to find.

    small crack in shower head

There is a small crack in the end of the hose + plastic mount for the shower head. I tried using sealant but couldn't seal it properly as the water seems to form a small bubble ie pushing out of the crack. Is there anything else I could use to seal this?

    toilet/sink block?

Oops...used plunger it seemed to dislodge something but not quite 100%. Now, when the upstairs shower is used, it fills up the kitchen sink instead so I guess now I have properly blocked the drain as the back drian is now filling up with water. Think it's gonna have to be a high pressure hose...

    toilet/sink block?

As the drain at back isn't blocked, can't I ring the water company and say their drain at front has a problem? Is it possible the drain form back to front runs straight but at an angle under the house instead of at right angles?

    toilet/sink block?

Can't see any metal manholes at all, just small circular holes, telephone cabling covers, etc. There is one of those 2 drain covers about 10m to the right of the house but not sure whether it is water or telephone cabling. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    toilet/sink block?

Is it worth pouring a bucket into the drain in the backyard or filling the bath up on 2nd floor and letting it run out? If the blockage was this bad in the actual house pipes for a month, you'd expect it to be backing up everything in the house wouldn't it?

    toilet/sink block?

Done that twice now, still no effect I don't think. I poured the bucket in from a height and it fills up to the rim and then takes 10hours or so to get back to the normal level.

    toilet/sink block?

If I need to rod the drains, is this the sort of thing: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12PC-DRAIN-ROD-SET-UNBLOCKER-9M-DRAINS-RODS-SEWAGE-/280524839936?pt=UK_DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&hash=item4150955c00 How long do they need to be? I thought I could maybe rod from the drain at the back of the...

    toilet/sink block?

I could only open the right hand one but no smell at all and it goes vertically down, you have to use a torch to see the water. Also, the road, public pavement is about 10-15cm to the right of those rodding eyes and there is no manhole...at least if there is then it's a public manhole? Also...

    toilet/sink block?

Right... Opened the drain at the back of the house, was completely clear. I flushed the downstairs toilet and no water appeared in the drain at the back of the house so the water must be running to the front/ There are 2 small drain holes at the front of the house (not in the street) but I...

    toilet/sink block?

Next issue, manhole is stuck, do I need some kind of crowbar to open it? It has 2 handles/keys to pull on but no movement at all.

    toilet/sink block?

It's only 1 toilet though. All other sinks and toilets/baths in the house are not affected. Wouldn't they all be affected if it was the drains?

    toilet/sink block?

The toilet has not been flushing well for a couple of weeks now, sometimes blocks, sometimes flushes poorly and the water level in the bowl seems to be low. I just turned on the tap and the toilet started bubbling, the tap waste is plugged directly into top of toilet exit u bend. So, now the...

temporary placement for CCTV on roof

Bracket sticks up about 10cm so it has a bit more room to move and it can tilt. Bathroom silicone - will that actually stick enough?

temporary placement for CCTV on roof

I was planning to install a security CCTV camera on the roof for a property that a friend of a friend has overseas. The only issue is that they are not sure where they exactly they want it yet. One view is from the roof looking down over the entrance and front yard, the other would be on the...

    door latch gets stuck.

When opening the door, the latch gets stuck on the inside of the lock, it looks like it lifts up a little as soon as it goes past the flat plate and that's why it won't come out without wiggling it about. I sprayed some WD40 in, but no luck.

Had some DMTs for my skis but they're only about 3 inches long. Tried the knives on them and still no luck - must be doing something wrong or the steel is crap.
