i fitted Kingspan to my garage roof fixed to 2x1 battons and taped along the seams with duck tape - looks neat and felt warmer afterwards
I also fitted some insulation foil to the metal doors
The initial idea was to have a small wall built alongside and paving flags on top, this would cost too much so i thought sleepers as i could "probably" manage this myself, it would cost less (no labour) and would blend in with the hedges, tree, lawn
sorry should have mentioned the full use
the sleepers are to be 3 or 4 high so they're just under level height with the concrete base of the garage. I would cut some down and lay them accross the trench at the same height as supports and fit some decking on top for walking on (hope this...
The back garden is mainly grass and the section where i want to lay sleepers gets waterlogged in heavy rain. I believe under the lawn is clay and even a tree in the middle doesn't soak up the water.
I'm wanting to build a narrow walkway alongside the garage to the side door out of sleepers...
Are you sure it's asbestos?
On our old garage we thought the roof sheets were asbestos so called the council who came out and took a sample to test - it came back as cement based so it was ok to remove and skip
I wish my garage had a pit and a high roof.
What i did with mine
1. painted all walls with brilliant white masonary paint
2. painted floor with grey epoxy paint
3. fitted batons to roof braces and attached kingspan insulation
4. fitted batons to walls and attached moisture resistant...
Well after reading these replies i've removed the hard wiring to the socket and refitted the plug which now sit in the plug hole as intended.
The extension is attached to the wall out of the way and i'm trying to get in touch with an electrician to come and fit some extra sockets properly...
I didn't think about needing a fused extension when i was looking - so if i buy another with a built in 13a fuse i can wire it in like i have done with this unfused 1?
Many thanks for the advice :D
I've fitted an extension with 4 outlets and wired it into the plug socket from the back instead of using the plug on the end of the cable into the front of the socket - is this ok?
The sockets are in the garage which has it's own fuse box
I had a new sectional detached garage built a couple of years ago and decided to board the inside out.
I used kingspan insulation on the roof, insulation sheeting on the insides of the metal doors and fitted moisture resistant chipboard on the walls.
This looked great but not there are signs...
I've had 2 - a 2001my and a facelift 2007my
The 2001 common problems were -
Gearbox - Midlands gearboxes notorious for going wrong so budget for a recon as a precaution
Airbag warning lights - sliding front seats stretches the cable underneath causing the warning light to come on, BMW can...
I lined the garage with moisture resistant chipboard flooring a couple of years ago (with foam insulation behind) and now want to paint it white to reflect more light.
Can i paint this or will i have to relign the wall? i was thinking of fixing 8-10mm hardwood, etc on top if needed but would...
Well i'm not sure if gloss would be best - thinking maybe a matt emulsion?
Got to be white for light reflecting as i detail cars in there so need light
pic of garage
Hi
I've lined my garage with moisture resistant chipboard and i'm now wanting to paint it brilliant white to reflect more light.
What type of paint should i use as the wood gets slightly damp in winter so i don't want it lifting/ flaking?
Is there a cheap(ish) 1 coat paint or do i use an...
bit harsh?
i'm working on a budget so couldn't have a stone garage built with insulating bricks, etc.
The door was the standard offered with the sectional garage and i was told i couldn't have a roller door ue to not enough space above the opening?
I'm not expecting a sauna but i would like...
