    1 or 2 skims?

Going to tackle an wall approx 8 x 3 feet , skimming. The wall is plasterboard and had been papered, after stripping off the wall has an old coat of emulsion. Question Do I still need to give 2 skims of multi or would one be sufficient? The wall is reasonably ok but lots of pinholes and a...

    Skimming, amateur needs guidance

I am currently using a Ragni 318, think it cost around £12. If I get on ok and feel I am getting the technique next attempt (I have other walls to do) I will invest in a better one. Question should the corners be slightly rounded? (by me) Dont worry about savouring and looking after...

    Skimming, amateur needs guidance

Looking for some guidance, about 5 years ago I did some skimming, it was a house I was renting and to be honest wasn’t happy with the finish, it was my first attempt and with a bit of sanding it was ok for renting , well I didn’t get any complaints about it. I seem to recall me main problem...

Ok still no joy have cleaned and inspected all that I can think of. Breesey if its the washer type seal as opposed to an o-ring then that came with the service kit and has been replaced. Floor tiled flat roof and outside wall, how to waterproof?

I will only re-tile if necessary due to cost, it would probably be cheaper to get the roof as in background house than tiling. Its in Turkey so 9 months sunshine but 2 months of very very heavy rain, and a month of mixed weather. It never freezes where we are.

Floor tiled flat roof and outside wall, how to waterproof?

You are of course correct, that was the taps (mains, which are above the light switch) on the wall that were leaking over winter (now sorted) but in any case the electric goes off at the mains after each visit to the place. The staining of the tiles was caused by the leak, but will have to wait...

Floor tiled flat roof and outside wall, how to waterproof?

Deluks There are 3 drainage points but the problem is `the fall of the deck` which does pool some water, I think the tiles were laid by `eye` and not by using a spirit level. It would be too expensive to get tiles relaid. One thing I am going to do is use silicone sealant around the terrace...

Floor tiled flat roof and outside wall, how to waterproof?

Not sure if this is the correct section. Problem:- 1. I have a place abroad which has a flat sunroof which is covered in floor tiles, apparently they put down some type of `waterproofing` before tiling and so far it appears watertight, however, some of my neighbours have developed slight...

Yes it is similar to the product on page 8. Now from memory I know that the `french doors` came from a scandanavian country so possibly these locks did as well, I have changed the barrels but found one of the original keys and it is stamped assa so could be the mechanism is as well. I have...

    Springs for doors

I dont have a picture of the complete lock as its in the (wooden) door at the moment, from memory (I took the pics last year) there were no makers name on the case but there maybe markings of some kind. The lock must be around 19 years old. There is a longer mechanism attached to the lock that...
