Thermostat in hall suspected not to work?

Hello ChrisR. For some reason, the info on the datasheet is a slightly different layout to the one I have at home...must be a newer model (God knows why they don't give new products new model numbers). Anyway, so how many wires are there on a standard thermostat? I am worried that when I buy a...

Thermostat in hall suspected not to work?

Hi MANDATE. I have not got the foggiest idea what the "Earth" wire is connected to. Would anyone be so silly as to connect it to a live wire? It's got to be an earth.....surely????? If you want to come round and check it out be my guest. The whole thing is driving me round the twist to be...

Thermostat in hall suspected not to work?

Yeah could have been Rob, it made a kinda 'Shhhhhhhhhhd' noise. Similar to to switching off a tap or something. We do also have a back boiler with some controls on the side of it, one of which is a slider which I am not sure really does....could this also be a thermostat slider?????

Thermostat in hall suspected not to work?

Hi Rob884. Well, we have been in the house for 8 months and if I recall, it didn't work then in the tail end of last winter, and nobody has been fiddling with it. If I wait for the heating to come on and turn the dial down so it clicks, should this turn the heating off? Thanks. PS...

Thermostat in hall suspected not to work?

Hello. Could someone tell me if this is correct? The little thermostat box in the hall doesn't seem to be working at all, it is it right that when I turn the dial down past 10 (lowest dial setting) it makes the little click? This is telling me that the temperature must be below 10...which it...

Hello everyone. Well the latest news is the washing machine is now fixed. I replaced the door switch and it had no effect I then proceeded to look further into the problem, I took the pcb out, that is when I found that one of the tracks had completely burnt away as if something had lifted it...

Creda 1000 Supaspeed EcoWash blew consumer unit fuse

Yes I have tested the socket and it is fine. My main questions are: 1) How did the machine work when the earth was connected to the Nueutral? 2) Do you think it could be the door switch...as above, I believe it to be open circuited.
