I think a with a T-Con fault you would get sound, but no picture. I believe, yours is not powering up at all? How confident are you to take the back off the tv (power disconnected of course) to post a close up photo of the arrowed parts in the picture below? If the silver tops of these...

    tenant needing advice please

I think the parts required to fix the boiler are not what the landlord is intending to fit.It appears he is fitting a "workaround" to the problem. From what I gather the fault means that the hot water does not work on its own, only when the heating is on. What the landlord is intending to do...

    skirting with carpet/wooden floor transition

thanks all for the replies. The skirting arrived this afternoon and at first glance I think I need to do a fair bit of scribing due to the floor being all over the place, so cutting down the wooden floor end seems to be the best option.

    skirting with carpet/wooden floor transition

I have a rectangular room (two rooms knocked into one). I am planning to have carpet in the front (lounge area) and wooden floor in the rear (dining area) with some type of transition strip down the centre. Ideally, I would like the skirting to go over the top of wooden floor so I don't have...

    replacement CU

    how old is this?

no idea - was like it when I moved in. The insulation tape is all dry and brittle, so I guess it happened a long time ago. Probably when it was rewired last in the late 70's early 80's. Then again the cream wylex has a wooden back open to the wall, so maybe a tad earlier?

    how old is this?

Can anyone id the age of this cut out? And here it is with the broken & insulation taped up cover removed: Expecting to find a fuse holder and actually seeing this behind the cover brought me out in a cold sweat, lol. To me it looks like a cast iron dual fused system that has had...
