How much movement should there be in roof tiles?

I am petrified of heights but my wife doesn't mind having a go & the fascia boards needed a painting. The only way on to the extension roof is either from the side with a ladder (& ours isn't long enough) or out of the back bedroom window. So as she's stepping out she feels a couple of tiles...

    Wireless home CCTV questions

For the obvious reasons - we were thinking about CCTV installation, front & rear of our house. I'm sure wired will no doubt be by far the best option but we were thinking about wireless. 1) Is wireless so bad? 2) Since the chances of anyone trying it on during the night is much higher than...

Honeywell (ADE Gen4?) - possible to make the beep beep louder?

Does that mean it would require opening the panel & messing around with the wiring then? As i see no volume on the main face. If so then i think we'll leave it quiet. Been down the road of opening panels before ............. it got costly in the end.

Honeywell (ADE Gen4?) - possible to make the beep beep louder?

That's what's on the front of the user manual but i've had a look through & can't find anything about altering volume. When we set the alarm the beep-beep-beep is quite quiet. Likewise when you come back in to the house & open the door, you can barely hear the beep-beep-beep before you need...

    Being overcharged for windows?

I did think it was pricey. Unless he's incorrectly assuming i want the frames replacing because i had the frames replaced downstairs?! But i specified the glass only. Thanks.

    Couple questions regarding fence panels

Because the current fence panels REALLY need replacing as said in the OP. Honestly, touch them & they'll fall in bits. Besides that, i don't see much difference between sticking a 6ft panel in in place of a 5ft and comparing it to sticking another base panel in to raise a 5ft panel up another...

    Being overcharged for windows?

A month or two back we had total new windows fitted to our living room - including the frames themselves. The main window was done which has the main body glass about 2mtr-x-1mtr with 2 openings around 250mm-x-850mm each. Then the small side window was done - again total new frames as well...

    Couple questions regarding fence panels

Thanks for the links. That second one looks the best bet although i'm not sure it'll work with the panels out the back since they already stick above the posts a couple inch. Might work on the ones out the front but i'd need to have a look when it isn't piddling it down.

    Couple questions regarding fence panels

Sorry i forgot to add that bit of information No, they're concrete posts, not wooden.

    Couple questions regarding fence panels

I had a look around, i hope this is the right forum for it? QUESTION1: We currently have 6x5 panels in place but they're that gone the next person to touch them & they'll just crumble. These panels already stick up beyond the posts about perhaps 1". Not a lot. My wife would like larger panels...

Removing fire cement residude from flue?

I tried the wire brush on the paving but it didn't fare too well. I was considering some acid solution but 1) wasn't sure if it was OTT and 2) didn't want to wreck the actual paviours.

Removing fire cement residude from flue?

I'll leave that as the thread title because that's the important one of the two. I applied some fire cement to the flue joint as it had cracked. Wiped up where it had spilled, used water (didn't saturate, just dampened). All looked good. Lit the fire & as everything dried out i saw runs over...

How clear should central heating water be?

Oh & sorry i forgot to answer - it's a combi & a Worcester. As for model i THINK it is Greenstar Si if memory serves. I'd have to find the manual to know for 100%.

How clear should central heating water be?

Yeah i was opening the bleed points on all of the rads. I just did some googling some weeks ago, saw a few videos & the comments were that the water should 'run clear' so i assumed clear like tap water. Just thought i'd come here to find out exactly how clear it needed to be. Thanks.

How clear should central heating water be?

I put some of the Sentinel X400 in 3 weeks ago & only just got round to running it out of the system. The water wasn't BLACK but it was dark. Filled the system back up, turned the heating on for a bit to get it flowing & then off, cool a bit, drain - still dark ish. Repeat but this time i...

What are these cables coming through my wall? And what cables do i need?

I'm not overly fussed about the colour. That'd be my wifes area :D I just wanted to know if i'd selected the right type of cable that would act as a Sky cable extension. If i've understood right then that WF100 will also do Sky cabling as well & is the best for the job really, so that's why i...

What are these cables coming through my wall? And what cables do i need?

That'll be for the differences between threaded & compressed right? Thanks for that. As for extending the Sky cabling, have i highlighted the correct cable in the image i uploaded?

What are these cables coming through my wall? And what cables do i need?

Rather than create a new thread for this i'll just ask here: Got Sky installed today. I want to do the same thing with Sky that i've done with the TV aerial cable so i'm just looking for an extension basically. The connectors on the ends of the Sky cabling are F connectors, so i believe i just...

    Re-fitting 'F' end on to WF100 cable?

Yes it's indoors. Unless this tool is only a couple of quid (& i don't imagine it's going to be) then it's not really going to be a great idea buying it just to put this end back on i would imagine because i honestly can't see where i'd need to use it again. All it is is this cable entering...

    Re-fitting 'F' end on to WF100 cable?

I can't seem to get it to STAY back on. Bought the cabling from satcure on the back of advice here. Put everything in to place. It works. The only problem is the end came off very very very easily. Now i was just thinking of getting some superglue, sticking some in the end of the connector...
