Diagnose and Repair Diverter Valve with No Gas Supply?

And the “warning notice” (received along with a £3k quote to sort from the same in-house gas engineers):

Diagnose and Repair Diverter Valve with No Gas Supply?

Failed the gas safety inspection, apparently not safe to use:

Diagnose and Repair Diverter Valve with No Gas Supply?

Thanks all. The (large, national chain) agent is beneath useless and will be losing the business. I’ll hopefully find out if anything was actually done to the boiler when another gas engineer visits this week (apparently this same boiler was condemned six weeks ago at its inspection - only just...

Diagnose and Repair Diverter Valve with No Gas Supply?

It’s a managed property, it was a failure of the managing agent.

Diagnose and Repair Diverter Valve with No Gas Supply?

Should say this is ringing alarm bells because I was initially told the boiler wasn’t working because the filler loop was dripping…

Diagnose and Repair Diverter Valve with No Gas Supply?

Have an older Baxi Duo-Tec 28 combi boiler in a rented house - engineer attended because the new tenants had no heating or hot water (and supposedly had a leak on the boiler, but this wasn’t communicated) on the night they moved in. Unbeknownst to me, a previous tenant had a gas prepayment...

Tap Flexi with Male End - Adaptor/Connector?

Thank you - no idea how I missed those…

Tap Flexi with Male End - Adaptor/Connector?

OK, bought Speedfit flexis, but they’re going to be too short after I have to cut the poly pipe behind the damage from the existing compression olives… Do male-end flexi tails exist?

Tap Flexi with Male End - Adaptor/Connector?

Trying to replace a Bristan basin mixer tap - bought a new one which has the usual screw-in-at tap-end tails with the captive spinning nut on the end. When I came to remove the old one, the pipe connections appear to be compression fittings, and I can’t reuse the existing tails because they’re...

Bosch HBC Combination Oven/Microwave - Only Microwave Works

Just replaced the selector switch on a Bosch HBC 84E 653B combination oven/microwave, as only the microwave function could be selected. It was temperamental for a while, but eventually the non-microwave positions just left the display showing the clock. Replacing the switch has not helped, it...

Bosch HBC Combination Oven/Microwave - Selector Switch Repalcement

No, just the top panel (for which it needs to be removed from the cabinet).

Temperamental Hot Water Flow, Vented Cylinder

I’ve temporarily supported the pipes that were hanging off the pump flexi, so it’s at a better angle for now.

Temperamental Hot Water Flow, Vented Cylinder

Thank you - do you think a blockage is unlikely?

Temperamental Hot Water Flow, Vented Cylinder

Should add the valves from the cold tank seem to work fine, with the pump off flow was as expected, cold tank drain seems fine, and I didn’t run a hot tap until the cold tank was full after cleaning it. Some photos of how it’s “plumbed”:

Temperamental Hot Water Flow, Vented Cylinder

Having ongoing problems with a lack of hot water flow from both ground and first floor taps - it’s a basic vented cylinder system, cylinder is fed from the cold water tank in an attic; all the cold taps upstairs and down off the mains, the attic cold tank appears to directly supply only the...

Bosch HBC Combination Oven/Microwave - Selector Switch Repalcement

Have a Bosch HBC 84E 653B combination oven/microwave with a broken function selector switch (basically, it will only work on the microwave setting and no other positions on the rotary selector work). I’ve bought a replacement switch, which fits behind the fascia panel and the knob, but am not...

Twin Outlet Shower Pump - Problem Only on One Side? Or Blockage Elsewhere?

Limescale covering the cold entry gauze, hot with bits of (I think) wasp bodies possibly via the previously-partially uncovered CWST.

Twin Outlet Shower Pump - Problem Only on One Side? Or Blockage Elsewhere?

New pump fitted, some improvement (especially in noise levels), but the problem was a completely clogged shower valve. Will re-plumb the outlet side to sort the flexi angles another day.

Shower Pump Feed from Top of Hot Cylinder - Drain to Disconnect?

I assume that I can just isolate the cold flow into the cylinder to stop flow out of the cylinder (assuming nobody turns a tap on)?
