Warmup XSTAT U/F Thermostat - Identify Sensor?

Options are: floor sensor; floor and temperature limit sensor; air temperature sensor; air temperature and temperature limit sensor; regulator control (no sensor, just does a set time on and then a set time off repeatedly) and external control (linked to another stat - pretty sure it isn't)...

Warmup XSTAT U/F Thermostat - Identify Sensor?

I'm trying to programme an existing Warmup XSTAT underfloor heating thermostat, but I don't know what type of sensor it's getting its temperature reading from - is there any way of finding out without taking things apart, other than trial and error? It's for a bathroom, ceramic tile over ply...

    Electrolux EWX1440W Washer/Drier - Stops Mid-Wash Cycle

Problem supposedly identified as faulty drier element - drier element disconnected and it still won't complete a cycle. Being told a new element will make it work once connected, fast losing faith in tradesmen ...

    Electrolux EWX1440W Washer/Drier - Stops Mid-Wash Cycle

Two people have now looked at it - it definitely isn't showing any fault codes and is turning itself off. I would prefer to find someone who will actually take the time to diagnose what's wrong rather than say it's cheaper to buy a new one, but ...

    Electrolux EWX1440W Washer/Drier - Stops Mid-Wash Cycle

Thanks - what difference would the washer/dryer bit make? Extra complication when it's in bits? I would like to find someone who can actually confirm it's the main PCB before I spend £130 on one though.

    Electrolux EWX1440W Washer/Drier - Stops Mid-Wash Cycle

Seems the main board may have gone - no fault codes, now stops a few seconds after it starts. Nobody is keen to replace it though (or take it apart to confirm) - don't people repair washing machines nowadays?

    Electrolux EWX1440W Washer/Drier - Stops Mid-Wash Cycle

According to the engineers no fault codes are showing at all - is there anything else I can check?

RC Plus/WR1 - Problems Starting Boiler

A bit of digging suggests this is probably a duff capacitor in the receiver. Will try replacing that first.

RC Plus/WR1 - Problems Starting Boiler

Still having problems with this - the boiler will not respond the thermostat either manually or via timer.. When turning the spur back on and pressing the two buttons on the receiver (as above), the red LED flashes and then goes out whilst the buttons are still held. When the temperature...

    Electrolux EWX1440W Washer/Drier - Stops Mid-Wash Cycle

Thank you very much - I'll try to to get the error code and report back.

    Electrolux EWX1440W Washer/Drier - Stops Mid-Wash Cycle

Having problems with an integrated Electrolux EWX1440W which is stopping during the wash cycles and not draining. The drain pump has been checked and is apparently fine and the filters and pipework appear to be clear. Are there any diagnostic checks which can be done to try to identify the...

RC Plus/WR1 - Problems Starting Boiler

Just been through your process again - boiler has miraculously come to life. What I did notice is that the red LED did not illuminate until I released the two buttons - I'll see if it still works via the timer in the morning. Thanks.

RC Plus/WR1 - Problems Starting Boiler

Thanks for the quick response. Just tried that - the Receive LED flashed, but the boiler isn't turning on (no noises, no green burner light). The red LED on the receiver is flashing intermittently now.

RC Plus/WR1 - Problems Starting Boiler

I'm having problems getting a Worcester Junior 28i combi boiler lit for central heating now the temperature is dropping (it works fine for hot water). It has the British Gas-branded WR1 receiver and RC Plus transmitter/thermostat. The transmitter flame indicator is lighting both when it...

    Recurring Damp Stripe above Window

Thanks very much for all the opinions. There's no evidence of a brick arch externally at least, the new plaster dried normally. The house dates from about 1900 - if there is a cavity, it's a very narrow one. The whole terrace of houses have a similar air brick (all only on one house's...

    Recurring Damp Stripe above Window

I'm sure it would help, but it's locked up and left at the moment, with the central heating thermostat set low. I'm not sure why it has only recently become an issue - it's been largely unoccupied for over a year.

    Recurring Damp Stripe above Window

I have a damp problem - an arch-shaped stripe of damp (approx. 6" x 3') keeps appearing on an internal wall about six inches above an upstairs window. The room was reskimmed about 15 months ago and there was no problem until about 5 months ago - it's a wall under a gable end with no gutter...

Worcester Combi - Hot Water and Low Flow

Hasn't always done it, but the water flow in the property appears to have dropped since it was installed. I know that low pressure is an issue with combis, but how low does flow need to be to cause a problem?

Worcester Combi - Hot Water and Low Flow

Having hot water problems with a 2-year-old Worcester-Bosch combi boiler - the hot water starts fine, but almost always goes cold after a minute or two. Sometimes it will run hot again of its own accord after a minute or so, usually you have to turn off and on. It's a bigger problem when...

Leaking Radiator Valve When Heating Off

I understand why the water leaks out, just surprised that it started doing so when the heating is off rather than on.
