    Wall tile layout

Just wondering how the pros would tackle my issue. I'm tiling some kitchen wall area for my awkward mother-in-law and she has bought 75 each of three different shades of tile and 25 of a darker colour to break things up a bit. She wants them placed randomly with no pattern or repeat lines...

    Straight cut using a router

Thanks for the replies guys. Maybe I'm still missing something, but if I cut from left to right as normal and remove most of the material short of the opposite bullnose(I realize I would break out the laminate by exiting out this way) would I then not be able to go round the other side of the...

    Straight cut using a router

I have a 40mm laminated piece of worktop which is bullnosed on both sides as it will be breakfast bar. I want to cut it to length to leave a clean cut edge showing on the end to finish with worktop edging. What I was wondering and before I attempt the cut, will it work if I clamp my worktop jig...

    Sealing cut edges

Whats the best thing to use for sealing the exposed ends after cutting down worktop and the 18mm end and back panels to stop moisture getting them? Is it still neccessary although I will stick edging strips on after cutting? :)

    Tightening wrench for router

I'm missing the 24mm and 8mm wrenches for my Makita router which I knew weren't going to be with it when I bought it 2nd hand and it states in the manual to only use these wrenches supplied. Does anyone know where I can buy replacements as I can't seem to find them anywhere, or am I being a bit...

    Depth of router cutter

When cutting mitres in worktops, do you judge the cutting depth each pass or use the depth stopper and hexbolts. I was going to lower the cutter each pass by eye really as I was assuming the hexbolts and depth adjuster was for actual plunge routing on other work. :)

    CARPET TILES OVER CONCRETE FLOOR

Is it ok to lay carpet tiles straight onto a concrete floor or should there be some sort of covering put down first for protection or dust collection etc? :?

    Which router should I buy?

I'm fitting a kitchen shortly and since I have wanted to buy a router for ages now, I thought I'd treat myself to one as I've got some mason mitres to cut in 40mm worktop. I've had my eye on the Erbauer 210c 2100W router as it comes with 1/4" & 1/2" collets and after reading the reviews am...

    Trimming worktop

Thanks. By wrong side I assume you mean cut upside down if using a circular saw into the front edge? If using a router, do I just go into the top good side up from left to right? One of my worktops is a breakfast bar and is bullnosed on both edges. Can I use the same methods, but go into both...

    Trimming worktop

I want to cut some lengths of worktop to length and will have 2 ends that I will need to stick edging onto. To obtain a really nice and clean straight cut, should I cut roughly to length, then finish with a router run along a straight edge? If so, what bit will I need and which way up should the...

    Carpet tiles onto chipboard

It's in the kitchen which isn't that big. Probably 9' x 9' and there's not much traffic as it's for a person on there own so mostly just her in the house. She'll be getting tiles for around £4 each so they're not top quality but we want it looking nice.

    Carpet tiles onto chipboard

Can anyone tell me if it is okay to lay carpet tiles over moisture resistant chipboard flooring(the green boards)? If so, should it be glued down to it? Also, can these green boards be attached to a concrete floor using a grab adhesive? :)
