    DVD Recorders

Considering purchasing a dvs recorder. There appears to loads of choice!! Think the 160gb looks a good bet in terms of capacity? Can anyone recommend any must haves in terms of features etc. One question I do have is that the tv I have has a built in freeview (its an lg hd ready...

    Jaguar Bolier

Pressed the re-set button and then re-set the clock and the boiler started working. After it had reached full temp I re-checked the pressure and it was running high at 3.4! I have bled off all the radiators (only one had air in) and it is now running hot at around 2/2.2. I can only assume...

    Jaguar Bolier

Thanks Agile, I'll check the timeclock settings in the morning. I have reset the boiler with the wee re set button on the front of the control panel, but what I didn't do was re-set the time etc. Perhaps if I do this it may fire up? who knows, anyway I'll give it a try.

    Jaguar Bolier

OK Gents, thanks for advice so far, any thoughts as to actual problem, I appreciate its difficult when you're not stood in front of it. Someone suggested the pump could be gone? seems odd as it as working for a few days after re-pressure then nothing? The system when running hot was at 2.4...

    Jaguar Bolier

Have a problem with a Jaguar combi boiler 22kw. Had air in the bathroom rad recently which I bled and then re-pressurised the system (within its limits). The boiler ran for a few days normally until it then just stopped. Hot water is still available but no rads. The message J1 appears...

    PIR Issues

Not too sure on the brand of pir but thanks for the advice (all) Its located fairly high up in the apex (but not right at the top) on the back wall looking down at a slight angle. I'll check the wiring but I'm fairly confident that it will be OK. I thought movement (birds) from outside...

    PIR Issues

I would appreciate any help. I have an alarm system installed which is a texacom veritas. There is a pir sensor in the conservatory but this tends to go into alarm mode when armed. I belive the problem is birds externally activating the pir, or its the environment within. Not sure which...

Things that make you go GGGGrrrrrr...

I actually do drive one and was just being a 'bit tongue in cheek' and also kinda thought I may get a reaction from someone. I always remember an article in a motoring mag a few years back(cant remember which) and it made me laugh by stating that the 3 series was the best mid range and best...

toilet leaking from screws under the cistern DIY help please

Yep, isolate your water supply, flush the loo to empty the cistern and remove lid from cistern. Usually two screws will hold this to the wall. Undo the wing nut srews underneath first and undo the coldwater pipe feeding the cistern before removing the two aforementioned screws holding cistern to...

toilet leaking from screws under the cistern DIY help please

It's a good bet the large o ring under the cistern is perished, assuming the cistern is close coupled i.e. attached/sitting directly on to the top of the actual toilet. You can buy a kit for about £3.00 in screwfix. Item 17405-89. Its a messy job and you will likely find the metal plate...

    New bathroom - problems

As long as some screws are in then it should be OK, just a bit lazy of the plumber not to put them all in along with the missing leg!! I would at the very least ask him to come back and put the leg on. Its not a big job.

    New bathroom - problems

As long as the feet are on a stable surface i.e concrete or properly fixed floorboards etc then no problem. The centre leg being missing would cause me some concern as if a heavy person were to step in then the bath may spilt/crack. altough it may argued this may need a lot of weight. The...

    Stupid Question But Here Goes......

I have actually got a few book for them too. But you're correct when you say about the toys/dimmer bit. I have to say the DS looks educational using the brain training games, so perhaps its not all shoot em up.

    Stupid Question But Here Goes......

Thanks to all who took the trouble to reply. I'll keep plugging away and hopefully get fixed up before Xmas. My local Blockbuster have advised to keep calling as they do get them in.
