No weep holes in upvc frame?

Maybe it's me, but I would expect that a upvc window frame with weep holes on the outside, should have weep holes on the inside too. A frame that I ordered ( and have had some manufacturing issues with) has been supplied like this, so I wanted a confirmation before I hear back from the supplier.

    Wiring a doorbell.

Old thread but I have just bought a Ring Doorbell Wired and Byron 776 to do the same thing as in the video. The Byron chime is powered, it works with a standard bell button, but when connected to the Ring, the chime won't work. How is it that it works in the video, I have wired it up the same...

Foundations for conservatory with dwarf wall and tiled roof

@woody No tiled roof is kind of suggested under the "The extension has a completely transparent or translucent roof." criteria. Read more: https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/building-regs-classification-of-a-conservatory.278544/#ixzz6im5pUoZG

Foundations for conservatory with dwarf wall and tiled roof

Hi chaps I'm not confused, however I now know that a tiled roof means its not classed as a conservatory. That's one issue. That brings me to the next. All my reading regarding a conservatory suggests the foundations should be 'suutable' as there is no minimum. I would not be building on top of...

Foundations for conservatory with dwarf wall and tiled roof

Ok, so no tiled roof then, but the main issue for me was the foundations side of things really, so as it technically is not deemed to be a conservatory ( but it will used as one) , does that affect the required depth of the foundations?

Foundations for conservatory with dwarf wall and tiled roof

Cheers, good to know. I have read that a conservatory or an extension doesnt need permission so long as it's not bigger than a certain size and such. When does a conservatory become an extension apart from the points you mention? I would intend to have a tiled roof, plastered ceiling, couple of...

Foundations for conservatory with dwarf wall and tiled roof

Does a conservatory built with dwarf walls and a tiled roof need to be treated as an extension? As I understand it, an extension needs foundations deep enough to carry a two storey build, but a conservatory doesnt. Due to access, any digging would have to be manual, hence my reason for asking...

Anyone heard of a company called Elegant? (showers and bathrooms)

I would agree with you all, seems iffy. Worth noting that they specifically say that glass isn't covered by the 'lifetime' warranty. As it happens, I was in Wickes getting some pipe and I noticed a shower door ( still in it's box and wrapped) that had been returned as it was "not required due...

Anyone heard of a company called Elegant? (showers and bathrooms)

I'm looking for shower doors and was about to spend £300 when I saw this company, Elegant-based in UK, selling what seems to be a decent set for £150. Anyone heard of them?

Slim ceiling joist - where to get shallow downlights for bathroom?

Hi chaps, thanks for all the replies. Just to allay any concerns that BAS may have about my use of questionable/inadequate lighting, may I point out that lighting isn't just about being 'adequate'. It's not a workshop, it's a bathroom. The single light gives out ample illumination, but having...

    waterproofing aquapanel

Limescale is a problem here, even though I have Salamanders on both cold feeds. The tile adhesive already being used is grey, due to the plan to use grey grout. White grout is nice, but I didn't want a 'stand out' white grid on the tiled wall, as it's not so big a room. If I'm careful with the...

Slim ceiling joist - where to get shallow downlights for bathroom?

Hi I want to replace the single pendant light with a few LED downlights in the bathroom, but am having trouble finding a source of such lights that are shallow enough to fit in the roof void due to the joists being quite shallow. Most downlight are 85mm depth or more, but I need around 60mm to...
