Consumer unit - Start over again?

The lack of top fixings is me, I had to pull the CU forward to install the framing behind it to bring the wall forward.

Maybe if we just knock that wall down.

Not too many actually, unless discussing trades I've used along the way! My brickie is about the only one that hasn't let me down in one way or another! PS. FOUR! :-)

Consumer unit - Start over again?

Thanks all. Extension is big(ish). Link to build is here. Planned new circuits were, extension radial, kitchen island radial, shed/summerhouse. No blank plate for the gap :-( Think that's actually 1.5mm on the 32A. For the lights on the ground floor. Think I'll change that! Neutral to the...

Consumer unit - Start over again?

Hi. As part of an extension there is a need to add some extra circuits. Just had a look inside the consumer unit, and it looks like someone has been, er, "busy". Is it best to add circuits to this or start again? Cost is no issue as I've already blown the extension budget a long time ago! :-)

Maybe if we just knock that wall down.

Mini digger got delivered 27th March 2017 so I'd say 1 year 4 months. Longer is always better!

30, plus 3 pendants over the island.

Maybe if we just knock that wall down.

Was cheaper to buy a third oven rather than a warming draw, and if you include the microwave OVEN still to fit that makes 4, so best go for 5.

Maybe if we just knock that wall down.

Slowly getting there, kitchen is more grey once the protective film comes off.

Maybe if we just knock that wall down.

Progress has been slow, first fix electrics and plumbing seemed to drag. Finally being plastered.

    Three ovens! Yes three....

No Sockets. Just need to find a triple appliance outlet plate and we're mustard! I know these don't exist unfortunately :-(

    Lighting "design"?

Slight change of plan. Went with a "smart" switch for hardwired 2A lamp sockets. For the other lighting I have split it into 6 (yes 6) groups or areas. The issue is that there are two points of access into this room so I will need to wire it as two way lighting, I've also chosen to take the...

    Three ovens! Yes three....

Oooo, never seen ones of those before. Would it need to be 3 x 6mm though, the oven uses 10A max. So would it not be possible to use some heat resistant flex like https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/CA1dot5HR3.html ?

    Three ovens! Yes three....

All three ovens are the same. So looks like our maths matches. Sweet.

    Three ovens! Yes three....

Hi. Myself and my wife have managed to come up with a three oven solution to a problem that never existed :-) She wanted two separate ovens, i wanted a warming draw, but could actually buy another oven for half the money, so went for that. So we now have three ovens to connect, doing the...

    MDPE stop cock confusion

Hi. I am planning to replace my stop cock as it actually doesn't stop any more. I have 25mm incoming blue MDPE pipe to 22mm copper. My plan was to buy one of these. However upon reading the instructions it states that a PE/Copper coupler should be used... If that is the case why would...
