    Potterton Suprima and Sentinel X800

It's old, about 18 years. The boiler itself is fine, it's all the gunk, rust and debris throughout the system and radiators the needs cleaning http://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/plinth-heater-woes.453423/

    Potterton Suprima and Sentinel X800

Hi all, We have a Potterton Suprima boiler and the whole system needs a clean and inhibitor. According to this site; http://www.kamco.co.uk/AlHeatX.html the boiler has a aluminium and cast iron heat exchanger. Am I ok to run Sentinel X800 through it and then drain and add inhibitor? I'm asking...

    Plinth heater woes

Success! It was blocked isolation valve end, a good 4 inches of it. Flexed and poked and flexed and poked and flushed. I just need to treat the entire system now. The water was so black and rusty it's as if it's never been treated, ever!

    Plinth heater woes

I've tried to unblock it in situ but failed. Next step (probably over the weekend when I have more time) is to plug the F&E and remove the flexi and attempt to unblock it without damaging the rubber inner. I was just looking for a replacement in case I can't unblock it or do damage it

    Plinth heater woes

It's the return flexi that's blocked, the feed is fine

    Plinth heater woes

Well it's the flexi, totally blocked with large rust fragments/rusty water. The only way I'll even stand a chance of unblocking it is to totally drain down the CH and remove the flexi connector. I'll have to give that a go some time. I just hope none of the copper pipe is also blocked

    Plinth heater woes

Hi, thanks but I don't understand, sorry I'm not a plumber, I'm an electronics engineer lol. So, I connect a hose pipe to mains pressure, say, my washing machine feed, then connect the other end to the pipe thats blocked, the one that connects from the out of the plinth heater and goes back up...

    Plinth heater woes

Ah I see what you mean, I think anyway. Water flows through the heater itself fine now though, it's the pipe that goes back to the rest of the heating up the wall.

    Plinth heater woes

Hose pipe from cold mains pressure to both the in and out pipes, is that what you mean? A quick burst? If it is blocked and I do this where does the crud that's blocked it go?

Hi all, Hoping someone can help. We have a plinth heater in the kitchen, the only source of heat in there (other than the oven lol) and it's never worked for the 4 years to the day today we've been in the house. Today I decided to take some time and have a look at it. Electrically it seems...
