Potterton Suprima and Sentinel X800

Hi all,

We have a Potterton Suprima boiler and the whole system needs a clean and inhibitor. According to this site; http://www.kamco.co.uk/AlHeatX.html the boiler has a aluminium and cast iron heat exchanger. Am I ok to run Sentinel X800 through it and then drain and add inhibitor? I'm asking as I read a thread the other day about not leaving it in for too long with aluminium exchanger. How long is too long?

Is it kettling? If your Suprima is old it's a cast iron one, if it's HE the newer condensing version it's not. Doing any of the above will not help whatever problem you have.

It's old, about 18 years. The boiler itself is fine, it's all the gunk, rust and debris throughout the system and radiators the needs cleaning
